Commercial Description:
Inspiration can sometimes be found in the strangest of places. This eccentric brew started with a single flower from a hop named Hallertau. The delicate and spicy aroma present in the flower has been responsible for generations of great beers. Hallertau hops are to a brewer what an old tractor is to a farmer: reliable. Big Red expresses the nobility of Hallertau by placing it at the forefront of this Imperial Ale. Pour it into a snifter. A swirl allows the spicy aromas to come forward as a taste to the lips reveals the complex balance between sweet malts and the bitterness of hops. Big Red’s ability to please is as dependable as your grandpa’s old tractor. Please consume wisely.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a medium and clear amber color wtih a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, some toasted malts, floral, and lightly spicy. Tastes of caramel, citrus and spicy. I would have guessed this one was a IIPA.

Pours a translucent orange amber with a medium bubbly/foamy off white head that left a spotty lacing. Aroma was a lot of sweet malts, caramel, biscuit, toasty, toffee along with flower hops with some light spiciness and some earthiness. Flavor of caramel, grainy malts, floweral hops.

Pours an amber color (hardly red, but who’s keeping score), nice hoppy nose. This is an interesting ale, although I gotta say, it reminded me of a decent IPA. Pretty darn good, but neither red nor significantly different than other IPAs.

Pours a reddish orange, pretty clear, almost no head wit ha light whiteness surrounding the edges of the glass. Smells of light cinnamon characteristics, apple, spices, and hops. Taste has pretty massive cinnamon and caramel notes up front, which turn into hops towards the finish. Taste surrounds the sides of the mouth and back of the tongue well after the swallow. Pretty bitter though which somewhat takes away from it .

Bottle. Pours a copper-red color with a a smallish of white head. Aroma is sweet, toasted malt, citrus, pepper. Flavor is caramel, sweet matl, floral and spicy hops, alcohol. Palate is medium to full, medium carbonation, bitter, hoppy finish. This works for me!!

Bomber provided by Dad. (mine, not ohio..) Pours out a dark orange to reddish color with a small white head. Smell is slightly grassy, sweet, fruity, and some spicy notes with alcohol embedded. Taste is kind of grassy, pretty green, yet not really a whole lot of alcohol burn. Pretty solid, very easy to drink for the style. Not too bad, I enjoyed it while I watched the Colts whip up on some bear ass.

Buffy orange body with low visible carbonation and some notable viscosity. Small off-white head. Pungent spicy hop aroma, plus sweet grain, cherry, peach, light butterscotch, and prominent alcohol notes. Notes of tobacco and whiskey in the flavor with crusty, coarse hop flavors and medium-high bitterness in the finish. Comes together well.

Pours a hazy dark orange amber color with a minimal ring of white fizz around the edges, a few big bubbles floating in the middle. Aroma is sweet and very citric, especially grapefruit. Flavor is pretty light and a bit watery for the abv. Dry hop finish. Overall, not a lot of flavor.
