4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle picked up from the brewery. Pours black with a thin off white head. Intense sweet aroma of milk chocolate and some coffee. Taste matches aroma, but slightly bitter. Medium to full mouthfeel, creamy and sticky. Zero aroma or taste of the high ABV, excellent. Wish I had picked up a few bottles instead of the one. I have not seen it in my (Michigan) area.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Its body has a very dark brown/black color that blocks out all light. The head on top is thick and foamy with a creamy tan color. It hangs on well as it slowly fades down to thin wispy layer that leaves behind some slick lacing. The aroma has a big sweet and creamy chocolate and roasted grain scent with a hint of dark roasted coffee. Also there is very noticeable boozy alcohol presence. The flavor has a big bold and boozy character. It has sweet roasted malts with loads sweet milk chocolate, warming alcohol and a slow finish of dark coffee with cream. The finish also has just a light hint of hop bitterness as well. The palate has a big full body with a velvety smooth texture and active yet smooth carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was one amazing beer, pours deep black with a large mocha colored head. It smells of chocolate and coffee up front, nothing else chocolate mainly. The taste is sweet first loads of chocolate and caramel notes and then descends into coffee flavors with coffee and dark chocolate finish with bit of bitterness.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft from brewery. Jet black. Aroma was wonderful with tons of chocolate hitting you with coffee and vanilla in the background. Taste followed the nose mainly. Chocolate was dominant but the coffee and vanilla mixed in well with it. I used to not get into these big stouts much, but my tastes have evolved and I enjoy them now. This is a full body beer and if you have a bomber I suggest splitting with a friend for sure.

If you like a sweeter stout filled with chocolate and coffee, then this is a must. I personally find that this particular stout is best enjoyed just below 50 degrees, as the alcohol will begin to assert if it gets much warmer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Absolutely stunning stout. Roasty, even bitter base stout. Perfect blend of chocolate and coffee flavor, enhancing the stout without being overbearing or getting in the way. Quite a dry finish. Not sweet.

Mokah is a delicious imperial stout. The chocolate and espresso notes create a wonderful desert beer. The pour was into a new Rogue Stout glass and was nice and dark with a medium amount of darkish brown head. Delicious beer and I hope to come across it again.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2014 These guys know how to make stouts! This is incredible, the smell is hershey chocolate, coffee like you have have never smelled before! The taste is bitter, coffee, but then sweetness, but then bitter after the swallow! Talk about tastebud confusion!!! Wow, it’s incredible! I know Founders has something to say about it, but this and Creme Brulee have me thinking when it comes to stouts Southern Tier is a class by itself!
