When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Smells instantly of coffee with some dark chocolate. Tastes like coffee, chocolate, malt, some hops, hazelnut, and hints of other flavors. It has a pitch black appearance with brownish head and lacing. After trying this beer I always keep a lookout for this at the store because it was a great Imperial Stout.

Poured into a snifter. 3.5 A: Black color. One finger of frothy/creamy tan head. Retention is okay given the ABV and a short ring of lacing is left. 4.5 S: Smells like a mix of amazing and heaven. Rich, silky sweet Hershey’s chocolate. Mild roast coffee. Big sweetness, chocolate domination, with caramel, gooey fudge, and roasted barley. 5.0 T: Damn, this is something. It tastes a lot like Choklat, but not quite as... chocolate-ty. That doesn’t mean it’s not as intense. The added punch comes from a healthy coffee component. Vanilla, fudge, and plenty of roastiness that is balance out by the sweetness. 4.25 M: Heavier medium to heavy body. Good moderate carbonation. Silky smooth on the tongue but could use a bit more creaminess. Still, really good here as well. Alcohol isn’t perceived at all. 4.5 D: I live for beer like this. So tasty but so drinkable as well. ★ 894 characters DavoleBomb, Sep 18, 2015

Thanks Jon for the bottle share! Pours a deep black with a small tan head that lingers for a bit. Light pepper aromas with milk chocolate, cacao nibs and dark roasted coffee. Taste is fairly well balanced between roasted espresso and dark chocolate. Dry coffee forward finish that lingers.

Poured into a wine glass showing light coffee rims with half a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows a lot of green pepper and vegetal notes. Upon warming up, a lot of generous chocolate notes appear. The palate is lightly carbonated and medium bodied. Flavors of very light sweet chocolate, light flavors of dark roasted malts and a dark cacao bitterness on the finish.

A fine stout lacking only in appearance and viscosity in my opinion. It looks thin and is a bit thin on the tongue. I’ve been overall impressed with Southern Tier and especially so with the Blackwater Series.
