4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down, leaving a bit of lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of pumpkin spices are present in the nose—nutmeg seems to stand out in particular along with hints of cinnamon.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has lots of pumpkin spices, although the cinnamon seems a little stronger and there are also notes of pumpkins and hints of roasted malts. As the beer begins to warm up, the spices stand out in the finish.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The pumpkin spices lend a little dryness in the finish.
O: This beer hides its alcohol rather well so it is relatively easy to drink, although my personal preference would be to have a little more pumpkins to balance with the spices.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Pitch black with little head from a gentle pour. Aroma is amazing. Pure pumpkin beer. Lots of cinnamon, pumpkin pie, whipped cream. Flavor is lots of cinnamon, more of that pumpkin pie. Like a more tame version of pumking. Very little stout character in this one. The main stout quality I see is a slight malty roastedness in the finish.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the 650 ml. bottle. It pours mahogany brown with a modest tan head. Some reddish hues too. Check out that aroma! Pumpkin spice, rich dark sweet malts, but only a hint of hop bitterness. Medium to full body. The pumpkin spice really soars in the taste but it is balanced by this amazing dark sweet malt character and mellower hop finish. This is one of the more amazing brews of the style I have ever had.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Hop City. Pours dark black with tan head. Aroma of Fall and Pie. Taste of roast, pumpkin and vanilla. Very smooth and sweet. Pumpkin is not overbearing. It’s like drinking a delicious, sweet dessert.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle gift from Mathew Rementer. Nice notes of roast, chocolate and pumpkin. Finish was velvet smooth, hints of pumpkin and a lot of vanilla. I thought the blend was delicious and the pumpkin flavor was not overbearing.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bomber from Beer Run, opened 8/17/14. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy brown head. Fair head retention. Aroma of candy pumpkin, squash and a bit of roast. The taste is roast, pumpkin, candy pumpkin, mild hay and vanilla. This is the same bullshit pumpkin flavor from Pumking. I guess I should have known. Artificial tasting terrible dreck.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
My first review, here goes nothing.
the nose has a delicate pumpkin to it but a very pronounced note of spice, caramel. pours black with a medium head. taste is direct. you can’t miss the pumpkin and coffee. paired with carrot cake to compliment its rich thick palate. they go very well together as stated on the bottle. even at roomier temps, this brew is truly delicious without being too boozy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pumpking with a tan. Smells and tastes similar to pumping, but lacks lasting power. Falls a bit flat towards the end of each sip, but overall enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from the bottle into a snifter. Pours an extremely dark brown/black with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma is comprised of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The taste brings out the chocolate backbone of a stout while adding the flavors of the pumpkin. A thin beer with very little carbonation and a nice oily mouth feel.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle) Pours jet black with a medium tan head that settles fairly quickly to a thin cover. Aroma reminds me of chocolate chip Kwik Trip muffins (or Otis Spunkmeyer muffins) and Yankee scented candles, although nutmeg, cinnamon, and even that pie crust element found in its paler relative is also found here. Nice cocoa and chocolate scents. Flavor holds milk chocolate, warming spice (mostly nutmeg and allspice), roasted malt, and pumpkin puree near the finish. The roasted malt lingers on with the spice and turns up sharply near the finish which yields a harsh bitterness I didn’t particularly care for. Mouthfeel is thinner than expected and carbonation is higher than expected.

Um. No. This was suggested to me by the knowledgeable employee at Total Wine & More. Since I like imperial stouts, he told me that if I also like pumpkin, which I do, I would enjoy this a lot. No. This is just not drinkable. Points given for a nice try, but this is not my kind of beer.
