Lubiere (9998) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2012
A light brown barley wine with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet vinous caramel with light vanilla, ample, not bad. In mouth, a sweet maple with vanilla pods, oily mouthfeel, nice and smooth. On tap at TAP NY, April 28, 2012.

daknole (9114) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Deep brown pour with a light brown head. Big bold bourbon on the nose, oak, vanilla and some prunes/raisins. Flavor is sweet and loaded with bourbon and oaky goodness. Really liked this.

hopdog (8940) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2012
On tap at Capone’s. Murky and muddy amber with an off white head. Wood, bourbon, caramel, and some nuts. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, wood, and some dark fruits. Medium alcohol burn in the finish.

Sammy (8631) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 17, 2012
Different than the oak aged bottles more commonly found. Bourbon aromas significant. Dark with little head though some lace. Smooth above average mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden by big chocolate and spice. Sweeter side of everything which made it dangerously drinkable.

DocLock (7860) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Draft at Craft. Pours deep blackish, thick, with minimal brown head and nose if oaky dark malt, vanilla, port, blackberry, hops. Tasted rich, thick, complex, with the dark malts mixing with the backup hops, up-front vanilla and wood, bourbon, port wine, blackberry, and a smooth finish. Really good.

jercraigs (7812) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 2, 2012
2012-08-19. Crisp dark brown with a nice beige head and great lace. Rich sweet malty core, caramel, muted toasty malt, finishes dry with oaky tanniny character, mild vanilla, dry whiskey sort of scotch like character. 7+ Modest aroma, sweet malt, dry caramel/toast. Mild whiskey and oak accents. 7+ Very smooth medium bodied palate. Pretty nice but I prefer the non-barrel aged version. Draft sampler at Coles, Buffalo

j12601 (6584) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Pouring at TAPNY. Pours a hazed amber brow with a thin white head. Sweet bourbon on the nose, malt and oak. Sweet and malty, big bourbon. Warm and boozy. Lots of booze, long warmth and bourbon.

phaleslu (6509) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy reddish-amber color with a small, resilient off-white head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, raisins, bourbon, toasted oak, brown sugar, figs, and cream. Flavor hit all the same notes. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth, sweet, mildly boozy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Rich, tasty, and smooth. Not as boozy as others have indicated. Maybe an older vintage was on or something. I recently tried the Oak Aged version and this is a much better treatment.

Draft. Amber, off white head. Sweet caramel candy, dark candy sugar, light bourbon, lighter fruity sweetness. Really really sweet. Not bad.

Glouglouburp (6022) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 30, 2012
In short: Another brutal booze & sweetness bomb. Meh
How: Tap at Tap-NY 2012
The look: Cloudy light-copper body topped by a persistent small beige head
In long: Nose is a bit boozy, medium bourbon presence, vanilla and sweet dessert. Taste is cloyingly sweet, extra-sweet overcooked caramel, a lot of booze, a shot of cheap bourbon without the wood barrel sensation, vanilla. No complexity, this just another brutal sweet booze bomb. Intense it is (hence the good ratings) but good it is not. I bet Al Qeeda trains their rookies to hate America by making them drink boozy bourbon barrel aged boozy sweet beers.
