Pours a deep dark brown colour with a medium creamish head. Even though the glass a foot away I can very much indeed smell the sweet chocolate racing up my nose. Great filling sticky thick mouthfeel. The flavour is bustling with sweet dark chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, alcohol and chococlate. Very sweet and bitter chocolate long lasting finish. This is THE chococlate bomb of a beer. Actually mu beer no. 5000 was a blind tasted good home brew from Plovmand, which got 3,7. :-) plovmand (1603), Helsinge, Denmark

The flavour is very sweet malty and heavy sweet chocolate. Its way too much and overpowers almost any other tasting notes. The body is thick and smooth but its like drinking cocoa milk. Smells like a fresh opened bottle of Hershey’s syrup. Has a dark cocoa bean taste with caramel hints. Much better than a hot cocoa on a cold day. This is a beer to savor. Imperial stout with chocolate. Solid brew but too much chocolate for my taste. You better have some keebler de-luxe grahams on hand when drinking this brew. njbfr (105), New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Black with a thin cinnamon/tan head. Aroma is incredible! Huge milk chocolate fills the nose with a slight roasted malt character underneath. Chocolate malt coupled with the Belgian bittersweet chocolate dominate the initial taste. Soon followed by more pleasant bitterness from other roasted malts and hops. Completely mouthfilling and pleasant throughout. Carbonation adds well to the creaminess even though there is little head or lacing. Very, very sweet but hides the alcohol completely. Very impressed. If you can find it, give it a shot, otherwise stick to Rogue’s chocolate stout as this is expensive and only worth having when you have the time to truly savor the entire bottle. Top notch chocolate stout.
