This is one of my favorite beers of all time. Delicious stout, rich lively chocolate flavor. No alcohol noticeable until the glass is near empty and slightly warmer, and for 11 percent - GODLIKE. Absolutely incredible, you owe it to yourself to try to get a hold of this. tturner (105), , Washington, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Big yummy chocolate. dark. very smooth sweet on the front. great carbonation. only real issue for me is the finish- a little acidic and bitter. slightly out of balance. Otherwise this would be a 5.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2009 A rich dark black color with a pretty small head and low carbonation. Aroma is very sweet and sooo strong of chocolate that it smells like Hershey syrup. Chocolate punches you right in the mouth and doesn’t let go. Flavor moves from sweet at first to a more bitter chocolate flavor middle and ends with a dry, malt ending. The beer is definitely heavy enough to carry the flavors very well. This is a great chocolate stout but my only problem with the beer is so strong of chocolate it makes you feel like you may have diabetes after finishing 22oz of it. kevd193213 (486), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 18, 2009 22 oz bomber. Dark brown, almost black pour with a thin brown head. Aroma of chocolate and sugar. Sweet yet smooth taste with a sweet finish. Despite the 11% ABV there is only a hint of alcohol and the finish is smooth rather than the typical bitter sharp for other imperials. IPAaLLtHEwAY (136), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Holy choklat! The aroma here leaves me flustered and hiding my boner. Smells like something that people spend a life time in search of. Rich and smooth chocolate, Its very aromatic seducing the senses. Pours black... Pitch black. I want to hold it up to the sunlight, but its a cloudy Wisconsin day and theres no sun. The flavor is bitter sweet, excellent chocolate taste and thick creamy mouthfeel. The flavor lingeres discreetly with a dark chocolate taste. This is the best chocolate imperial stout ive ever had. Its bold and confrontational, but still keeping smooth dark chocolate in reserve. hopeye101 (39), Draughthouse, Texas, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 16, 2009 Bottle from 2007 that I’ve been hanging onto for awhile.
Poured into a new belgium snifter. Not much head at all. Some lacing. I can see some alcohol shimmer to almost give it some vinous legs.
Color is pitch black.
Smell is very tootsie rolls. Yoohoo. Cocoa powder.
Taste is like a black russian. Sorry dude not quite your drink but close. Kaluha. Aftertaste is sweet chocolate.
Mouthfeel is thick.
I’m good for about a half pint of this. It gets a bit cloying after this. I still would love to try this over ice cream. If I do, I’ll let you know.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Bobmer: pitch black appearance with quick disappearing tan head. Aroma: some roasted malt with slight coffee and of course CHOCOLATE!!! Flavor: thick with huge chocolate flavor. It’s a bit overwhelming but an interesting stout! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Black colored with a deep brown under-body and virtually no carbonation. Hershey’s chocolate syrup aroma bursts from the glass, deep chocolate extract. The Hershey’s chocolate character is pronounced in the flavor as well with dashes of malted chocolate. Stunned to see this stands at 11%. No indication of alcohol in the brew. Lacks the rough, roasted robustness and hoppiness generally characteristic of most imperial stous.
