dogfish120love (250), west hartford, Connecticut, USA Dec 20, 2008 Wow, instead of smelling like bitter weet/ semi sweet chocolate many imperial stout and chocolate stouts , this brew smells like a hershey bar. The pour is black with a burnt sugar or carmel color head. The taste has hints of oat, but the flavor is primarily... you guessed it chocolat. badgerben (3584), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Dec 19, 2008 Black color with a very thin head. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate and lactose. The taste starts with a fairly bitter roasted malt taste. The chocolate arrives a bit later, but not nearly in the intensity that a beer actually named "Choklat" would suggest. Even after warming to cellar temperature, the chocolate did not stand out. ST Oat displayed more chocolate character. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Dec 18, 2008 Bottle, pours a red-hued, black body with thin tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of lightly roasted malts, caramel, milk chocolate, and cocoa powder. The flavor features a stronger burnt malt character with cocoa and hints of tar and coffee. Medium to heavy body with a smooth, slightly oily mouthfeel. Burnt malt and cocoa finish. aaronphazel (16), Missouri, USA Dec 17, 2008 deep black in color. nice choklat aromas and taste. excellent imperial choklat stout!!!! MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Dec 16, 2008 Bomber shared by my friend Chris- A deep opaque black motor oil pour with plenty of mocha froth and nice lace. Nose is socompletely dominated by freshly melted milk chocolate, that there might as well just be chocolate in the glass. Black coffee and anise make an appearance, but this is just so chocolatey. Tastes of bitter dark chocolate, coffee beans, some anise with a nice hop profile, leading to a sweet milk chocolatey finish that is creamy, and leaves no trace of the ABV whatsoever. I drank my serving in only a few minutes and was left wanting more. Excellent beer. In terms of a chocolate beer, I don’t think one could smell any better. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Dec 16, 2008 More mind games from Southern Tier. This is not a stout so much as it is a cold bottle of hot chocolate. Lots of lactose in it. You might think a marshmallow should be added if that is your thing. A dessert beer along the lines of the Creme Brule. hombrepalo (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 16, 2008 Updated: Feb 10, 2009Bomber! . A dark brown red pour. Aroma of chocolat is huge. Flavor is just smooth rich chocolate with a hint of nice bitter and pleasant abv. Solid full mouthfeel and good carbonation, a bit too sticky. Very easy drinker just a hint of oddness at the end. radagast83 (1272), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Dec 16, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours very black with a small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and heavy on the candy bars. Flavor is great. Like a liquid Three Musketeers with alcohol. The alcohol is not that noticeable for a beer that is 11 percent.
