It actually tastes like pure chocolate milk, in an absolutely ridiculously fashion. The 11% abv is totally absent, and I didn’t really like that because the flavor in this beer is so overwhelmingly strong that I really needed a strong oomph to churn and burn the flavors in my mouth but the alcohol just isn’t there to help thin out this super heavy beer. There were a number of things I didn’t like about this beer, mostly how foody it is by the way it tastes exactly like chocolate syrup, but it still accomplishes what it aims for remarkably well so I’ll give a nice rating. This beer is truly an experience. Dorwart (1811), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA

And then it was only about a quater of an inch. Brown in color and consists of small bubbles. WOW, distinct chocolate aroma. Maybe the most distinct that I have ever had before. Loads of milk chocolate, rich toffee and some roasted grains. Smells just like hershey syrup. Color is essentially black with some brown around the edges. Super smooth and creamy flavor. Loads of chocolate in there again. Not just a hint of chocolate but a whole friggin hershey bar! Vewy sweet and silky smooth. You have to really like chocolate to enjoy this brew. Fiishes sweet and syrupy. Really over the top chocolate stout. Hides its alcohol really well. I am sure this is going to f me up later!

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 22 ounce bottle split in pint glass. Black with lasting brown head and lotsa lace. Cark chocolate syrup aroma. Cark chocolate flavor with roasted coffee and some hoppy grassyness. Bittersweet chocolate finish. Full body, medium carb. An excellent desert, if slightly one-dimensional. No alcohol presence. BossHossBikes (147), Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with translucent brown edges. The head is tan and creates good lacing, but is minimal and quickly diminishing. The brew seems a bit viscous as it creates a nice coating as you swirl it. Aroma... wow... that is a lot of creamy chocolate. There are some caramel notes and some subtle molasses. But the chocolate is extremely dominant. As the brew hits the tongue, bitter cocoa is the initial flavour. Not much else to say about the flavour other than cocoa. As the brew passes the tongue, bitterness becomes even more apparent. The sweeter notes of the chocolate come out as well. Some very subtle smoked qualities hide in the background creating a really nice touch to the finish. However, the bitterness becomes a little overpowering over the chocolate. While I do generally like bitter beers, I would enjoy this one more if the bitterness was a little more balanced with the rest of the flavours. A little noticeable alcohol does slip through the flavours, which doesn’t entirely mix well with the chocolate. There just seems to be a lot of inharmonic, conflicting flavours. This brew, overall, is tasty, but there are a a lot of nuances that are hindering me from saying, "this brew is great!" jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA

Tastes just like it smells delicious with some roasty backbone present too... this is great, but difficult to finish a 22oz by myself.
