beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 18, 2009 Aroma of rich chocolate with roasted malt. Pours a black color with brown highlights and a thin light brown head. Very good flavor of rich chocolate and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is very soft and mellow. jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Aug 16, 2009 Bottle@Home. Pure chocolate aroma, nothing else, just Koetjesrepen. Very black, light brown small head, good lace. Liquid chocolate bar at first and liquid bitter chocolate bar in the finish. Medium body. You must adore chocolate because that’s just it. kuphish (150), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Aug 13, 2009 Bomber. Dark, near pitch pour. Creamy/frothy brown head. Black, opaque body. Big chocolate aroma with mild, underlying caramel. Faint alcohol on the nose. Big time bitter chocolate flavor with some caramel malty sweetness. Almost no alcohol flavor. Fully, viscous body with average carbonation and some chocolate oiliness. Overall a very nice beer, but it seems a bit one-sided and chocolate heavy. Lacks the complexity that I’d really like to see in a beer such as this. Some more roast, coffee, slight ash would be a nice complement to the chocolate. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 8, 2009 Pours a deep black color with a light brown head. Aroma is bitter chocolate, roast, some prune, caramel, and some hops. Flavor is caramel, roast, bitter chocolate, some fruit, and a very bitter spicy finish.

Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Aug 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black abyss with a coffee tan head. Loads of viscous liquid chocolate, dark chocolate, with a chewy coco alcohol warming. So rich thick and viscous its hard to finish a bottle. With that said the flavor is so on point its incredible. Great in milk, over ice cream etc. Awesome for what it is. wavers1 (110), novato, California, USA Aug 3, 2009 Updated: Nov 5, 200922oz courtesy of bmartin08. amazing beer, you have to try it. smells and tastes of about 80% cocoa. non-geeks really like this stuff, everybody likes this stuff! and it’s 11%, which you can’t really tell since it tastes irresistable.
