Aroma – Huge Chocolate aroma, the beer had dark aromas spewing from it.
Appearance – Dark black color, thin head, clear as mud can get.
Flavor – Huge flavor. This was the beer for the week for me. It was super huge with Chocolate and coffee flavors. This beer gave off so much flavor it was rich beyond its life. HUGE Flavor.
Palate – AWSOME Mouthfeel, good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was a beer of beers for most. This was so rich with flavor it was almost too much. The deep chocolate flavor was great I loved the beer it will and can be my Valentines every year. If you like Chocolate this is your beer.

Feb 9, 2010 Bottle. Pour is black with a thin tan head. Aroma is semi-sweet chocolate chips and a touch of roasted malt. Really not much else; but it really is a pure aroma. Flavor is semi-sweet chocolate milkshake with notes of roasted malt, faint coffee, and a touch of vanilla. It’s not terribly complex, but it is certainly unique. 11% is nowhere to be found. I have not had anything else quite like it and I like it. Could not drink it everyday.

Feb 9, 2010 Well now a 99??? I will be in the minority and say I won’t drink this again. The 11% is not noticeable because everything is buried under the chocolate smell and flavor. The only other hint i caught was vanilla. Kudos for you if you like it.

A bit more bitter than I expected... oh wait, that may have been the bitterness of defeat.
All the great flavor of the Creme Brulee, without the overwhelmingly cloying finish. This beer stuck with a strait chocolate flavor that bittered out nicely at the finish. A great malty character without much hop present... the malt lover / chocolate fanatic really needs to get ahold of a bottle! My next trial... finding this on tap!
Another well done beer by Southern Tier... they really keep impressing me!

Feb 6, 2010 Bottle. Pours black with big brown head. Smell is dark chocolate, taste is dark chocolate. Reminds me of drinking hot cocoa but in cold beer form. This beer is excellent.

Feb 6, 2010 bottle thanks to cavie. pitch black pour with a khaki head. nose is heavy chocolate with faint banana in the background. very thick on the palate with great flavors of chocolate and more chocolate.

Feb 5, 2010 Thoroughly enjoyed via draft in a small whiskey snifter. The beer pours an opaque black color with a small but long-lasting tan head. The nose is pure melted milk chocolate, absolutely amazing. No hop or discernable malt presence is perceptable in the nose. The palate replicates the aromas advertised previously. Flavors of chocolate smores, a touch of roasted malt, and a slightly sweet finish grace the palate. It is utterly amazing how the brewers at Southern Tier achieved this flavor profile in a beer. A work of art.

Feb 5, 2010 Bottle. Pours black with quickly diminishing tan head. Taste is bitter and lightly sweet. Palate is full-bodied and creamy with a bitter finish. Aromas have burnt malt, dark chocolate, fruits.
