This is pretty much exactly like drinking a chocalate bar, or eating a piece of chocolate cake. Amazing. It has SO much flavor, I cant see putting down more then 8oz or so. I had a 3oz sample, and it was enough. Its crazy they were able to smash that much choclate flavor into a stout. unlike any Impy made. Great stuff. Juelze (927), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours a black color with light brown head. Aroma is of fudge brownie, chocolate milk shake and chocolate malt. Taste is the same as well. This is an imperial stout, but to me, it’s more of a dessert beer then something I’d want to sit back and drink a bomber off. It’s a remarkable beer, but a one time experience for me. If I was single, this would be a good panty remover. beerbill (1989), Laurel, New York, USA

Pours a very dark opaque brown with a moderate milk chocolate head that lasted through about two-thirds of the glass. Very pleasant aroma of dark chocolate with a little bit of coffee as well. The flavor is bittersweet chocolate up front with more of a mocha flavor at the finish. There is a bitter finish that is not from hops, more like coffee bitterness, that extends beyond the swallow and lingers a bit. Not quite as dense or full bodied as I would expect in an impy stout. The alcohol was extremely well hidden. An excellent dessert beer, as long as you like chocolate! Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Beer pours dark as night with some moderate head and lacing. Let’s get down to it...this is liquified milk chocolate. No lactic notes of some other "milk" like chocolate beers, no bitter baking chocolate. This is like taking a handful of Hershey Kisses, melting them down, chilling them and adding a roasted malt stout underneath (with some noticeable hops, but not much). They totally accomplished what they were out to do. Not overly sweet, but still difficult to drink...not that that isn’t understandable. How many liquified Hershey Kisses could you think you could drink without it being a little too much? The temptation struck more than once to drink this bomber by myself...I’m glad I waited until I had my father to share with. jrob21 (1285), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

That’s why I am a bit torn on my review here. As far as complexity goes, this one is pretty uncomplex and one dimensional with its chocolate bomb. The aroma is like walking into grandma’s house just after she baked a chocolate cake. The flavor is decadent truffle like chocolate. Oh yeah, this one came from rollinhard. Would totally welcome this one back again anytime. TheEnemy (423), Chicago, USA

Well, they sure aren’t kidding about the chocolate, the aroma of which instantly permeates the room once you start pouring. Said pour produces a solid dark-brown with a tight foamy creamy head. A closer inspection of the aroma is still overwhelmingly chocolate, though it has a slight artificial quality to it. Aroma also gives off a good dose of sweet sugary malt. A sip first reveals -- surprise! -- lots of dark chocolate, though the artificial quality that showed up in the aroma is thankfully absent in the flavor. Dry, roasty, slightly bitter grain shows up next, only to be tempered by a welcome dose of sweet caramel-like malt and a dash of vanilla. Alcohol shows up just enough to warm and not enough to overwhelm. Velvety-smooth, thick, creamy and slightly flat palate. Yeah, this is good stuff even if they almost go into overkill with the chocolate. Well worth the praise it has received here and elsewhere. RCL (1499), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
