Texture is sticky and cheap candy-like. The artifice that dominates the finish is wholly unappealing. Even the chocolate tastes like ’choklit product’. Not even the alcohol saves this. Unanimous drain pour. Butters (1689), Virginia, USA

Dark brown pour with fair tan head. Absolutely perfect praline icecream aroma. the best aroma of any beer I’ve ever come across. Butterscotch and rootbeer. Flavor is extremely sweet chocolate, pecan, toffee, caramel, candi corn. Flavor doesn’t hold up to aroma, but this is still an amazing beer. This is my beer mcdonalds: I’m lovin it! Pours a tan head with a dark brown body. Smells of prailines and cream ice cream, butterscotch, and toast. Tastes like butterscotch, toast, little nutty, and some coffee. Tasty beer, sweet, not a stout for stouts, but tasty. Dessert palate. MesandSim (5999), London, Greater London, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s pre NYE tasting. Amazing mahogany looks with a very impressive off white head. Massive creme caramel aroma that totally overwhelms everything but damn it’s good. Once in the mouth it’s quite clear this is really not anything close to a beer but it’s just utterly excellent. Carmael, vanilla, lashings of thick freamy chocolate and full of butterscotch. It could quite easily make me sick but I would love every mingute. Late bitterness adds some more interest and just about brings it back into beery teritory. Outstanding texture and a truly incredible desert beer. Thick, sickly, very sweet but just an amazing experience. Far too much for some I’m sure. Sim and I loved every minute. Yet another thing I have to say a HUGE thank you to HogTownHarrry for. Nice one mate! redlight (1520), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Huge vanilla aroma, sweet sugary creme brulee, with choclate malts. Pours black with a tan head. WOW, this really tastes like creme brulee with chocolate, creamy vanilla and milk sugars dominate, with chocolate malts with hints of cafe au lait. This is a desert beer if i ever had one. They really did a great job with this one! Sammy (4070), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The mouthfeel is above average, and yes it tastes like creme brulee. Coffee and the like are the biggest stomach irritants known to man, and this was no exception. Great job, but not something I will go for again. Dangerously high alcohol, disguised of course behind the sugar. ant880 (39), Brooklyn, New York, USA

Aroma is big vanilla, with undertones of chocolate. Taste is straight creme brulee. The only thing it is missing is the carmelized sugar on top. Very creamy mouthfeel. timsilvia32 (447), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Black pour with some brown around the edges. Off white/cream colored head. Quite a bit of lacing sticking to the glass with this one. Aroma very sweet with vanilla, mocha, brown sugar.
Flavor is heavy vanilla bean, followed by some roast malt and chocolate. Finishes just a hint of smoke and coffee bitter. Not quite creamy, which would really help if it was a bit more creamy. Lingers with you a bit, it really does taste quite a bit like creme brulee, especially when chilled. Gets a bit more diverse, and better, as it warms with more roasted tones coming through. The alcohol only peaks through a bit as it warms also, but still nearly non-existant for 10%.
A bit overpoweringly sweet for regular consumption, but certainly a worthy dessert beer.
