Tap. Pours a deep black with a creamy light mocha head. The flavor is incredibly strong and sweet creme brulee. There may have been a stout under those flavors somewhere, but I couldn’t find it. This was a bit too over the top and gimmicky for me. I would prefer the creme brulee flavor dialed down the sweetness cut way, way back.

Tap: Deep brown edges, nearly black center with a mocha-tan head that quickly dissipates into nothing. Very nice aroma; vanilla, sweet cream, caramel, & brown sugar give off that heavy sweetness vibe & have a very dessert-like appeal. Taste is no different... It’s sweet. VERY sweet. Milky vanilla, sweet caramelized brown sugar, burnt toffee, just a slight astringency from the roasted malt. Sweet up front, sweet on the back-end.... Sweet everywhere. The taste, the aroma, all good, but the high sweetness makes this hard to drink more than a few ounces. I understand it’s SUPPOSED to be a "sweet dessert" beer, but this is overboard. Attenuate a little more & this beer might actually be really good.

Deliciously inventive. Perhaps overly sweet for more than a single serving but perfect for post dinner/holiday evening. High vanilla and caramel as the name would suggest.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2014 Poured from bomber into snifter. Dark, dark brown color, with thin white low retention head. Smells straight up like butterscotch. Taste is interesting: more butterscotch/ vanilla, but a little more bitter than I expected. Feel is like fizzy ice cream (I know thats weird, but thats the best way to describe it); the fizziness is a bit odd as well (maybe its not supposed to be that way?). Overall, a pretty interesting, pretty tasty beer, for all its oddities.

Another beverage filed under "it is what it is" because it smells and tastes exactly like a crème brûlée. The booze is nicely hidden. It’s super heavy, though, so definitely save it for the last beer in the tasting session or as a dessert. Enjoyed on tap at Sugar Maple, MKE, WI.

GF. Pours a dark small head. Tons of butterscotch, caramel, and of course vanilla. Smooth mouthfeel. Very sweet. Nice alcohol burn on the finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours very dark with thick head that fades with no lacing. Aroma is very sweet with vanilla and caramel. Tastes the same with a hint of maltiness. Pretty smooth and sticks to the stout style. I really enjoyed this beer. Poured from a bomber into left hand stout glass, second pouring the same but over blue bell vanilla ice cream.

Draft - Black as midnight, very sweet smell to it. Sweet taste and a lot of vanilla on the palate. Flavor lingers around as well. Lots of vanilla all over the place. A good occasional beer for after dinner.
