Commercial Description:
“a stout of great contention” We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

By comprehending the labyrinthine movement of time, one would not think it strange to trace the errant path of an ordinary object such as a cream dessert only to discover that it has been the cause of cultural disputes since the middle ages. The British founders of burnt cream and from Spain, crema catalana, both stand by their creative originality and we respect that, but it was the French Crème Brûlée, amid the strife of contention, that survived to represent our deliciously creamy brew. 10.0% abv • 25º plato • 195º L • 22 oz / 1/6 keg 2-row pale malt / dark caramel malt / vanilla bean / lactose sugar / kettle hops: columbus / aroma hops: horizon

Very dark with a white head and frothy lace. Aroma comes out with silly amounts of vanilla and sweet cream. Flavor is much the same, way to sweet, too much vanilla, too much creaminess, nothing resembling subtlety. The powerful flavors drown out any complexity that might be there. Tastes a lot like Baileys, while that might have its place, I dont see its place as a beer.

Bottle courtesy thirdeye11. Pours black with a tan head. The aroma is strong butterscotch with a lot of sweetness and some vanilla. Definitely a different aroma. The flavor is butterscotch, praline and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel, low carbonation and very drinkable, but I can’t see myself drinking more than six ounces at a time since it is so sweet. This beer would serve as a great stand alone desert.

We loved our daughter very much, but she was evil. Made the horses crazy. Killed our puppies. Hid the remote. Really sick shit. My wife took her to the old family farm and drowned her in the well. I felt a simple time-out would have been sufficient.

Smell like Creme Brulee Stout. They were not kidding about that part. The aromas are great, but the taste is very sweet, almost too sweet. The balance of the bitter hops and maltiness is lacking. If you want a dessert in beer form, this one is for you.

Tasted from the bottle at some friends in RI . Fairly black Color with minal head. Flavors present were caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. Medium to full bodied with a smoothness on your tongue. Sweet pleasant finish . Not bad but prefer the Choklat.
