COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“a stout of great contention” We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

By comprehending the labyrinthine movement of time, one would not think it strange to trace the errant path of an ordinary object such as a cream dessert only to discover that it has been the cause of cultural disputes since the middle ages. The British founders of burnt cream and from Spain, crema catalana, both stand by their creative originality and we respect that, but it was the French Crème Brûlée, amid the strife of contention, that survived to represent our deliciously creamy brew. 9.6% abv • 25º plato • 195º L • 22 oz / 1/6 keg 2-row pale malt / dark caramel malt / vanilla bean / lactose sugar / kettle hops: columbus / aroma hops: horizon

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2010 Probably the best smelling beer you could imagine. A little too sweet for a beer. This would make a great shot though.

This beer is basically a dessert. Poured from a bomber into my St. Bernardus chalice. Deep brown, reddish around the edges. Minimal head and lacing. Aroma is heavy butterscotch and vanilla. Taste follows the aroma, along with coffee notes. Some booze warmth in there as well. Little to no carbonation, the mouthfeel is sugary sticky. Overall, enjoyable brew if you are looking for something sweet. I pulled this one out of the fridge because the kids were having root beer floats and I thought I'd give it a shot. Poured some of this on a scoop of vanilla - didn't care for it. A lot of booze ended up coming through in the "beer float". ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber bought through Brill & Co. Pours close to black with a frothy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is very sweet with roasted malts, french toast, lots of vanilla, alcohol, butterscotch hard candy, caramel, roasted malts and some very sweet low quality chocolate. taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, buttery toast, burnt wood and alcohol. Mouthfeel is cloying sticky sweet, boozy, tiny watery and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with toast, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch hard candy and charred wood. Sweetness is really over the top.

Pours dark black with thin tan head. Nose has extremely strong vanilla notes. Smooth mouth feel with the 9.6abv coming through on the finish. Awesome heavy stout, perfect as a dessert drink.

Nice pour resulting in good head. Immediate slightly sweet vanilla taste which lingers on the tongue and nose after swallowing. One is just right, two would be too many ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma from the bottle after opened is like no other for those creme brûlée fans. Taste that follows is very good as well. Just a great imperial stout. If there ever was a desert beer, this is it. I just like to have my desert first! MKH---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fluid Creme Brulé. Almost black, has an off-white head, mostly lasting, looks good. Heavy sweet aroma, caramel, coffee, caramel, vanilla. Heavy sweet flavor, more caramel and coffee. Nice harmonic bitter finish. Creamy, syrupy texture.

Draught at Beermuda. Poured darker brown with creamy head. Moderate lacing. Insane toasted caramel aromas. Probably the best smelling beer Ive had. Tastes of burnt caramel and sweet roasty malts. Aroma wins over raste on this one but pleasant if youre into sweets.

Et helt supert desertøl med smak av vanilje, lakris, malt og kaffe. Dyp mørk farve med lite skum. Lukten av creme brule er virkelig fremtredende. Litt lite carbo.
