3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle that I set aside to let it mellow. This really reminded me of a mellow, caramel laced barley wine. There is a hint of toast, vanilla and a faint hint of hop spice. Not bad and really no hint of the 11ABV at this point.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 5-29-2009 (Bottle) This beer pours a small semi-fizzy vanilla head with a short retention, transparent amber body, spotty amounts of lacing, fizzy, and fast rising carbonation. The Aroma is malty, oak, hint of pine hops, sweet, and alcohol. The Taste is sweet, lightly bitter, malt, lightly hoppy, alcohol, and a short dry finish. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium-full bodied. In conclusion, this beer is very quaffable, has an enjoyable flavor, worth trying and a beer I would drink again.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
650ml bottle. Reddish copper colour with small, frothy, diminishing, off-white head. Somehow dusty, woody aroma in the foreground, hints of toffee, vanilla, coconut. Taste is moderately sweet malty, hints of bitter almond, some toffee, a touch of coconut; slightly biting bitter hop and hints of alcohol in the finish; slightly sticky palate.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle, from Dilly Cafe. Shared with Alden and Andrew. Amber orange color. Minimal white bubbles of head. Virtually no head, no lace. Lightly citrusy. Kind of floral hop nose, but it’s very mild. Caramel malt, light spice in the nose. Flavor is predominantly caramel malty. More sweet taste, very little bitter. Bigger body, kind of sticky, with a dry finish. Alcohol doesn’t burn at all, but bites lightly in the finish. Raisin, caramel. Tastes way past its prime. Individual notes seem to have devolved into a muddled mess. I get little to no barrel notes, besides a little bit of vanilla. 4.5 years is way too long for this to sit around. Was probably fascinating fresh, but just a malty, sweet thing right now

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks fonefan for this bottle. Cloudy orange. Malty aroma with cookies, cookie dough, caramel, a bit of chocolate hints and woody hints. Malty flavor, a bit nutty, with dough, cookies and a faint note of weird acidity. Medium-bodied, lively carbonation. A bit weird.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Grabbed a bottle for no particular reason just cuz it looked fancy pants. Pours dirty brownish copper with thin head larger on last pour. Nose of sweet toffee. Tastes of toffee, butterscotch, fruity esters, bready, vanilla, and some rubbing alcohol for good measure. Too sweet but it is southern tier so u know prior to buying.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to Kevin. Pours a cloudy orange copper with small white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is dark fruits and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with a coconut flavor and light malt and nice dry finish. A good American strong ale.
