3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This starts with a slightly sweet smell, underlying hints of dark fruit and vanilla. Pours a clear red, with a thin light tan head. A very creamy mouthfeel. This comes across sweet, with a bit of vanilla and oak. Not bad, but not something I’m going to go after again.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark brown sort of color with a dense but small head. Loads of vanilla, loads of sweet toffee. Dark fruit in the background and a woody finish. Extremely sweet but not in a bad way.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by ucusty - thanks, David! Dark pour, well carbonated, almost menacing looking. Nose was fairly complex, fragrant with sweet candy and oak. Not as harsh and one-dimensional as the initial entry in this series. Strong hop aggression balanced out by sweet malts and some seriously grapey flavors. Weak tea in the finish, alas. But this was an improvement.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to ucusty for sharing this one. Pours a dark copper with a one finger offwhite head. The nose is sweet, fruity, oaky, caramel, mildly tannic. Flavor is mild, some waxy character, rich, caramel, malty. Palate is waxy and astringent. Overall a pretty plain beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle shared by nuplastikk. Hazy brown-amber with a small light beige head. Lots of oak, vanilla and spice in the aroma, with a sweet berry and frosting touch. Sweet, alcoholic, oaky and malty flavors. Lots of brown sugar and caramel. the oak provides some foil to the sweetness, but doesn’t quite manage. Full, sticky body. Alright for a few sips, but this could use some more balance for that sweetness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by nuplastikk: Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and milk chocolate with lots of fresh oaky character. Starts with good fullness and rich, sweet dark caramel maltiness with a healthy dose of fresh oak and bittersweetness toward the drier, crisp finish. Pretty well balanced, complex and enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was a decent but unspectacular beer. Aroma was OK. Vanilla, oak and caramel. Pour was a nice deep gold with a one finger bubbly off white head. Taste was a little thin with hints of roasted caramel and chocolate in the front with a weird spiciness prickling the tonsils in the aftertaste. Nice carbonation makes the beer enjoyable. One thing’s for sure, this tasted like an 8% beer at most. Good job at hiding the alcohol.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours dark red with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, pepper, roasted malt. Tastes cloyingly sweet and mesy with up front weird bitterness.
