Gotta love the bold, over the top, in your face oak paddling. Thick, sweet, syrupy body--should’ve poured this over waffles.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Capone’s. Pours hazy deep copper toward ruby-brownish with 1-finger off-khaki head. Nose is oaky and spirity, very fruity, with some caramelly malt, cacao, and brown sugar notes. Tastes dense and complex on the palate with notes of significant dark-skinned fruit, hops, oaky earthy brown sugar and cacao notes, and a smooth finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep garnet pour, nice off-white head. Aroma holds booze, floral and citrus, caramel, and a touch of wood. Flavor holds more orange blossom, candied apple, and ethanol. Palate is a touch hot, medium bodied. Really pretty good stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear garnet with a thin tan head. The aroma holds tons of vanilla wood, toffee, charred oak, citrus, dough, and ethanol. The flavor is sweet but tannic with a large wood presence. Lots of caramel, toffee, orangepeel, candied apple, and mild vanilla notes. Medium bodied palate with low carbonation.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
On draft at Coffee District. Dark amber color with a thick bubbly head. Good amount of lacing and carbonation. Aroma is extremely malty and sweet, a little too sweet to make it enjoyable. Same goes with the flavor. Way too sweet and malty.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Only beer in the series I’ve tried, but from what I can tell from , there’s way too much number 2 in here for my taste. Loads of vanilla and caramel sweetness on the nose and palate, with a fairly hot finish (to be expected). Mellow carbonation, which I like, and a very pretty red amber color. That American oak is wicked on this brew. Tastes like a Werther’s Original dipped in vodka, which I’m sure some people will love.

Pours amber/ruby with very little head. Aroma of hops, vanilla, malt. Flavor of vanilla, cherry, booze. Sweet and boozy, but a decent brew.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma is slightly sweet with some oak and fruit as well as wild yeast and plastic. The appearance is like a watered down cola with a foamy head. The taste is somewhat like the aroma but it also has nuts as well as caramel. The palate is soft and smooth. Overall I am not a fan.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber pour, little to no head. Aroma of coconut, vanilla, earthy hops. Some almond and pistachio. Flavor has a candy-ish hop towards the front which melds to coconut and vanilla from the oak. A fair cherry and peach note appears as it warms a bit. Sweetness is apparent, but perhaps not as much as Cuvee 2. Still quite a bit. Some boozy heat in the finish. Overall, this is better than I expected. Still sweet and boozy, but not as much as some other Southern Tier beers, or for that matter, many, many highly rated beers.
