3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Charleston Beer Exchange. Pours dark ruddy copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet fruits. Med + body. It’s very fruity. Makes me think of grape. Then it goes on to ripe light stone fruit. There’s some slightly roasted caramel. There’s some woodiness. Heat is not an issue. Just slightly sweet; there’s an impression of bitter. It seems like amazingly fresh fruit. A few other things I can’t find words for are in the mix. Excellent.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
22 oz bottle purchased at Bark’s Beer Cave in Plattsburgh, NY. Weird, swampy, rubbery aroma with some vanilla oaky woody hints. Light ethanol retronasally. Not so aromatic. Virtually transparent amber body with a medium-small off-yellowish head present. Very very sweet, sugary flavor to start. Some pitted fruits and a little diacetyl butteriness present. Finishes with more sweetness and more vanilla oakiness. Booze is well-hidden under the overly sweet, sugary, cloying body. Not so good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Deep amber, fairly clear, moderate sandy colored foamy head, spotty lacing. Nose reminds me of wort, well sweet wort. Combine that with some burnt brown sugar and dark pitted fruit. Weird, this one smells like the mash process, but sweeter. Hmmm... Ugh... yeah, this one tastes unfinished. Its sweet, almost cloying, with a strong wort like flavor profile. I love beer, I really do, but when I smell wort I want to gag. This beer isn’t helping. Oh boy... now that this one has warmed up its a little tough to drink. Make sure to drink this one cold, very cold. Body and mouthfeel, while sticky, seems moderate. After each sip I am looking for something to kill this flavor. Jarlsberg cheese it is! Still, this beer just tastes like sweet fruity wort juice. I have several breweries near my residence and this aroma is very common, perhaps without as much sweetness. Body and mouthfeel are moderate, despite this one being a little clingy. No wonder I had to trade this one from the east coast. Cuvee 1 & 2 made it out here, but 3 never did. I think I know why. Thanks Jeff for the opportunity to try this one!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Solid tan head and lovely dark amber color. Aroma is very sweet and malty with hints of oak and vanilla. Noticeable alcohol in the nose. Very malty and sweet with light oak and fruit notes. I would like this much better if the sweetness was balanced with a stronger oak and/or hop character. Very sweet and under attenuated. Definitely a one-note beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by argo0: Pours a clear deep copper amber with ruby hues and a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet dark caramel a lightly vinous fruity nose with some berry flavors and a touch of oak. Starts with a sweet chewy dark caramel and strawberry fruitiness with some warming oak complexity before a semi-sweet sticky warming finish. Seems under-attenuated and one-dimensional.
