3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 1/2/2013. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast esters; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a good bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice Czech pilsner. Good balance of malt, hop, and yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of grass, hay, floral notes, and light grain. It pours a transparent gold with a two finger white head that fades to a thin film and leaves behind some decent webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of honey and some sweet graininess. The finish has light grass/hay/floral notes. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, nothing mind blowing, but a decent summer thirst quencher.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear straw under a soft white head which fades slowly into a thin film with a thick border. A few random bubbles trickle their way up to the white head.
Crisp toasted golden grains with green grass in the back. Fresh juicy oranges. Honeyed grains and sweet breads. Tropical sweetness on top with cantaloupe, kiwi, and mango.
Delicious! Sweet, bready, grassy, and melons. Liquid grains and liquid breads – artisan made and baked of course. Honeyed cantaloupe, starfruit, and kiwi. Orange in the middle and on top. Gentle pithy notes linger long in the back of the throat after each swallow. Full chewy mouthfeel.
A fantastic classically inspired pilsner that I would love to have in a can for the boat, the beach, and anywhere else I would enjoy a good pilsner. Once again Southern Tier pleases the palate and my session beer sensibilities.
