Great European style. Don’t get caught up on the lack of hops. Blows away Pilsner Urquell........

UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Bottle: Fairly clear, straw-yellow color with a soapy white head with good retention, resting as a creamy film. Aroma is slightly leafy, musty hops, Noble-like, though there’s a mild citric, nearly lemon lime-ish note in the back... Subtle, well done. Soft grains. Taste is paved with nice pilsner malt, just lightly sweet. Nice hops, some must, leaves, and a more pronounced citrus, lemon-y and lime-y finish. Only slightly bitter. Light bready finish, clean & crisp yeast aftertaste. Very nice pilsner... Very nice. Drinkable like whoa.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
I had this right after the Great Divide Nomad, so here is a comparison of two American made pilseners. This is more golden than the yellow Nomad. The aroma is less fruity, and is instead drier and more grassy. It smells "cheaper," like a cheap European beer. In that sense it is more authentic. The flavor has fewer off-notes than the metallic Nomad, but it is less innately attractive. Still, it is more drinkable, after a worse aroma. Very mediocre mouthfeel--like a run of the mill American lager, fizzy. Bottle.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle, thanks sevenhokie! Very malty aroma with grassy notes and a hint of citrus. Pours pale yellow in color with a white head that is big initially, but fades quickly. Taste is all malt up front with a little bit of citrus. Finishes very smooth with the grassy flavors of the hops showing through. Good, very drinkable pils.
