COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer may have a cheeky name, but don’t be fooled; it is modeled after fine European pilsners to be light and crisp. Aromatic Noble hop varieties, 2-row malted barley and European style pilsner malt contribute to this pale beer’s smooth character.

Beautiful golden color, with a nice foamy head - great lacing. The nose is very German, with a crisp hoppyness reminiscent of old world pilsners. It's not a hearty craft beer, but it is a really, really solid homage to the German classics. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste grain, grass, lightly sweet. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog rating on 8-24-2012 (Bottled on 01/18/2012) This beer’s appearance is a small smooth white head that mostly diminishes, transparent yellow body, extremely fizzy, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is grainy, malt, grass and floral hops. The flavor is lightly bitter, grassy hops, grainy, and malt. The mouthfeel of this beer is moderate carbonation and this is a light bodied beer. This beer is easy to drink, but the flavor did not leave me wanting this beer again. It is not a bad flavor, it just needs more of it.

I picked this one up simply for the name. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grains on the nose without much else; same for the palate. Finishes fairly clean. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 3-24-23- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance –Pours a deeper yellow- golden colored brew with a one half finger pure white head. The head fades rather slowly, leaving a lighter level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – A musty and grainy aroma create the base of the brew. Mixed with these smells are a lighter grassy and herbal smell as well as a little bit of a papery aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a bready and slightly grainy flavor with hints of a caramel sweetness. As the taste advances the sweetness fades more, with a slightly herbal and grassy hop flavor coming to the tongue. The hop flavors remain relatively light, but persist to the end of the taste, where the grassy flavors then grow a bit stronger, leaving a lightly bittered and malty flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel –For a 5.2% abv. pilz ,the body of the beer is on the slightly thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The thickness takes away from the refreshing nature ever so slightly (very slightly), but accentuates the more herbal and grassy hop flavors of the brew. Overall it is a pretty decent feel. Overall – A decently easy drinking and refreshing brew. Nothing too flavorful or special, but good for what it is meant for; a somewhat crisper, easy drinking, and refreshing brew to drink while sitting and conversing with friends.

Bottle from 99 Bottles (Federal Way, WA). Meaty, chicken stock nose, or maybe cat food, with lots of yeastiness. Pale straw color, big creamy head. Heavy grassiness, yeast, and some assertive bittering, and more yeast. Thin-medium body. Tastes like a grassy meat stew with some candy mixed in. Overall, not really as bad as that sounds. Way too yeasty.

bottle - Pours clear gold with a small, white head. It has a grainy, cereal malt aroma. It tastes of sweet, grainy malt and mild noble hops bitterness. It’s a decent light bodied beer, but not something I’m likely to look for again.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pilsener. Why? Well, its a pilsener by style, why would it be in any other glass. The appearance was a slight hazy yet tried to have a slight transparent yellow color. Light carbonation was seen rising to fill a two finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. The smell was somewhat grassy/yet grainy with a light sweet malts. The taste was basically the same and it left a quick dry sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and came across fairly sessionable. The carbonation finished smooth and crisp and felt exactly like a pilsener should be. Overall, good job Southern Tier, I’d have this again.

Sweet, smooth, and a flavor I can’t quite place. IS the flavor a genuine lost ingredient? Some grain forgotten by the ages? Some morsel from a garden that never was and a soil that cannot be? What are those lost tastes? And WHERE ARE THEY? Do they fall out of existence like crumbs in the cracks of a cushion? I searched out this beer. I remembered it fondly from a cold basement in February. The beer was paid for by someone else and I sipped the beverage as I also fiddled on my yellow gibson les paul. 6 months later I stumble into a random liquor store and suddenly remember it as the only place in town that carries the eurotrash. Perhaps I wanted to go back to the cold cement basement? Perhaps I wanted to venture beyond that, to that realm where forgotten flavors float just out of tongue space?
