Poured into a tall glass mug. It’s a beauty; dark straw color with a thick three fingers of white head. The tall glass shows off the bubbles floating up and the tall head.
Quite fragrant for a lager. Strong malt/grain smell. A bit of ripe orange and pear.
Well, the taste is strong for a lager too; not up to an ale strong. Sharp bitterness from the hops. The pilsner malt is evident in a larger, strong quantity too. It’s like a triple czech pils crammed into a normal glass. Lots of flavor.
Crisp texture, medium body and moderate carbonation.
A great job here. All the best of a normal pilsner brought out extra strong.

On tap at Craft Beer Co. Clear deep gold with lasting thin white head. Hoppy aroma. I think really drinkable. Lovely hop too. I really like it. Love imperial lager. Just so drinkable for the strength.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JCB (3804) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Bomber from Sam’s, Durham, even after strong cautionary advice. Fizzy deep gold pour, attractive enough I suppose. Heavy aroma of dank malts and harsh, grassy hops. Mouthfeel is a bit heavy too, with an oily feel that’s occasionally relieved by some aggressive carbonation. Grassy and sprucey notes combine not especially well with dense sweet malts. This may in fact be what ST was going for but it’s not for me.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Enjoyit (2913) - Vadum, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2012
Pale golden of color with a white head. An aroma of sweet malt, alcohol, weak sherry and hops. A flavor with malt, sweets, citrus and hops.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2012
Bottle [22oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a small diminishing bubbly white head. Mild aroma of sweet malt, grain, light hops, alcohol and citrus. Pleasant enough flavour of citrus fruit, sweet malt, grain, leafy hops and a bit of alcohol. Average bodied. Better then I expected but it would be a bit tough to drink a whole bomber of this, the alcohol is pretty prominent for the style.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 garthicus (2336) - Dublin, IRELAND - FEB 1, 2012
Thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: Dark yellow, almost orange, small white head. Aroma: Perfumish, hoppy, tangy, orange peel, strawberry. Flavour: Stong tangy alcohol, hops, sticky mouthfeel, strawberry, malt, long honey and alcohol finish. Big & boozy.

22oz bottle shared with blankboy and garthicus. Clear oily-looking gold with a small diminishing white head. Smells like a boozy pils - pear juice, flowers and ... dust. Taste is alcohol and flowers - weirdly delicate. Light, syrupy body, mild carbonation, increasing drying alcohol in the finish. Not horrible, but holy crap, a bomber of this and you’re in the gutter.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bricks (457) - Delaware, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Smells of pine, like an IPA. Nice thick palate, a bit maltier than I expected. Surprised it’s listed as a pale lager. Very good.
