COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Neolithic humans evolved from nomadic hunters into a more settled agricultural society, changing life forever. The Ďfounderí crops they raised included wheat and barley. It is little surprise that the first examples of brewing appeared during this age. Brewers owe much to the epoch. Similarly, we thank our farmer friends of today for cultivating the ingredients the are responsible for the beers we now enjoy. Their laborious days spent ourdoors under the hot sun earn them respect, as well as a mark of distinction: the farmerís tan. Yes, the inevitable red and white hallmark of hard work.

Smells of pine, like an IPA. Nice thick palate, a bit maltier than I expected. Surprised itís listed as a pale lager. Very good.

Rated on 6-22-2011. This bottled beer pours a small white head that mostly diminishes, hazy golden body, fizzy carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is malt, pine hops and alcohol. The taste is bitter, malt, pine hops, and alcohol. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This is a sipping beer at 9%ABV as the alcohol comes through in the aroma and flavor. As it does, it brings a warming sensation.

Bottle. Malty and slight hop aroma. Lots of body and sticky. A little alcohol bite. It is what it is.

650ml bottle [8.6% abv]. Clear golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Sweet-ish malty aroma, hints of toffee, a touch of almond. Taste is moderately sweet malty, hints of almond, bitter almond, toffee, bitter hoppy counterweight; soft palate. I donít like this kind of malt sweetness, that is also often to be found in Barley Wines; here it is tolerable due to the intense bitter hoppy counterweight.

4/30/2011. From bottle. Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Boozy aromas with malt, yeast, fruit and bready notes. A little buttery with alcohol burn on the finish.

Poured into a pint glass after chilling to 38 degrees. Thatís pretty cold for a beer with a 9% ABV, but that is what ST suggested on the bottle, so who am I to argue? Ap: Straw colored, perfectly clear with about 1/2 inch head. Very mild carbonation. Ar: Smells nice and refreshing - very much like a pale ale or IPA. The alcohol is definitely detectable, but not too hot. T: Not nearly as hop forward as an IPA. Alcohol burn hits the palate hard, which I did not enjoy. The taste is surprisingly thin considering the larger number of ingredients and high ABV. Itís like a watered-down Double IPA. I guess added kettle hops such as Mount Hood and Santium technically make this a lager. P: Alcohol lingers and doesnít leave ... thatís a distraction. O: I may grab this one once a year as a curiosity-grabbing summer seasonal. People who tend to like beers on the cold side may like this one okay.

Bottle 75 CL. Pours hazy yellow small lacing head. Notes of lemon, bready malts, citrus, fruity. First was pretty lame after awhile opened up more and the tastes came out. Not bad for an lager.
