According to Greek mythology, the twins Castor and Pollux are said to have been hatched from one egg. What a crazy story! We’re more apt to believe in alien intervention and UFOs. You have, something a little less far fetched. At Southern Tier Brewing Company, heavily hopped beer have been out calling card since Unearthly made its debut in 2006. Gemini is a super hopped ale with six varieties of hops blasting flavor and zapping bitterness in every direction.

It is really flavorful, with grapefruit and lemon and hay and grass and nectarine and rose petal. Aromas and palate match up. Long and strong on the palate. Doesn’t hide the alcohol, but it is a little slick.

pours a rich gold with a smallish bubbly off white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy. Taste is orange citrus with a heavy mouth feel. Not as over the top bitter as many IIPA’s. Long hoppy bitter finish and linger. I like it.

A - floral, piney, sweet, and bready A - beautiful Amber hue with a lightly-tanned head T - Floral on the bite. Pine flavors shine through in the middle of sip. Bitterness takes over at the back end, but doesn't overwhelm. P - little carbobite on the front but quickly smooths out. Quite heavy, but not creamy or rich. O - Great beer. Bittersweet (sweetbitter, rather) and Balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light golden amber with a whitish head. Punchy and dry, yet with nice hints of grape, citrus, apple. Hoppy but not too bitter. Quite nice.

Bottle: Cloudy golden-orange color with a soft, soapy off-white head. Aroma has lots of caramely-sweet malt, green onion, wet hop dankness, & underlying floral notes. Flavor is the same, lots of herbal, green onion-y, semi-dank hop wetness combined with an overly sweet caramel malt underbody. Somewhat thick mouth feel with an earthy-bitterness in the finish combined with some sugar cookie. A little too sweet for me.
