Tap at Mad Mex, Monroeville, Pa. Pours honey color, off white head. Aroma is caramel, lemon peel, orange, slight tropical guava or papaya note, mild ethanol note, some bright notes. Flavor is malty sweet toffee, Caramel, dark fruit fig-like, almost cherry, lemon, pineapple, bitter finish that sort of coats the tip of your tongue. Very nice. Drinks very much like an American Strong ale.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It is really flavorful, with grapefruit and lemon and hay and grass and nectarine and rose petal. Aromas and palate match up. Long and strong on the palate. Doesn’t hide the alcohol, but it is a little slick.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours a rich gold with a smallish bubbly off white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy. Taste is orange citrus with a heavy mouth feel. Not as over the top bitter as many IIPA’s. Long hoppy bitter finish and linger. I like it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A - floral, piney, sweet, and bready
A - beautiful Amber hue with a lightly-tanned head
T - Floral on the bite. Pine flavors shine through in the middle of sip. Bitterness takes over at the back end, but doesn't overwhelm.
P - little carbobite on the front but quickly smooths out. Quite heavy, but not creamy or rich.
O - Great beer. Bittersweet (sweetbitter, rather) and Balanced.
