According to Greek mythology, the twins Castor and Pollux are said to have been hatched from one egg. What a crazy story! We’re more apt to believe in alien intervention and UFOs. You have, something a little less far fetched. At Southern Tier Brewing Company, heavily hopped beer have been out calling card since Unearthly made its debut in 2006. Gemini is a super hopped ale with six varieties of hops blasting flavor and zapping bitterness in every direction.

Aromas of fresh crisp hops. Light white head and light orange body. Fresh bitter hop flavor with earthy berry. Crisps and xlean on the palate.

Poured into a perfect pint. 4.0 A: Clear light orange color. One finger of frothy/creamy white head. Retention is lacking, but a half finger of lacing is left. 3.5 S: Floral hoppiness with elements of cat piss and herbalness. Malts are subdued, but pleasant. Grainy with caramel notes. 3.75 T: The taste in this isn’t all that impressive, but it does drink so easy that that doesn’t matter. Again floral hoppiness foremost. Some herbalness, cat piss, and woodiness. Grainy malts with caramel and a touch of breadiness. 4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy and super smooth. 3.75 D: Overall a very pleasant brew. Quite pleased with this. ★ 670 characters DavoleBomb, Apr 05, 2014

Crisp and boozy double IPA. Boger and citrus flavor longer far after hits your palate.

Nice aromas, the hops have some tropical notes, a bit of citrus and some pine. Nice medium to heavy body, borderline syrupy. Flavor starts with the dank pine, earth, and some big maltiness on the backside, especially as it warms. Overall it was fairly nice, a bit too much malt for my taste.

Aroma is dank hops, citrus/fruit and very slightly musty. The flavor is hops, fruit, light grapefruit, malts and a long and bitter/mildly tart finish.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out resinous hops, some caramel and bready notes – not overly cohesive, but pleasant. Flavour is quite chewy, with resinous and spicy hops, and bready malt to back. Well-balanced and cohesive. Nothing mind-blowing, but it’s well-integrated. Very good.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a semi-hazy bronzed color with a light transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. A one finger white foamy head started and dissipated leaving messy lacing running all over the place. The smell starts off with a sticky resinous sharp sprucy/piney-ness that lingers over some light caramel malts. The taste balances nicely between the caramel malts and the bitter sprucy/piney-ness. It leaves a nice dry sprucy/caramel aftertaste leading into a light dry piney finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs nicely to allow a nice bitterness to invade and become what its supposed to be for this beer and style. Overall, this was a well worthy DIPA I’d have again.

Bottle from Southern Tier Super Pack. Pours a nice amber color. Rather slick and not much of a head. Aromas of dank hops and sweet bready malt. Taste is of tropical fruits, a bit of pine, and a bit of caramel. Medium body with average carbonation. Pretty easy drinkin’ for 9%.
