Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours clear orange with a wonderful, staying, creamy, white head. Fat hoppy aroma, grapefruit en masse, red apples, bready malts, some lemons. Lightish mouthfeel, fair dryness. Actually, it feels a bit thin. Flavour is lightly hoppy, not as bitter as expected. Light caramel maltiness and a high amount of sugars left in the brew. Feels abit too sticky and sweet. There must have been so much hops as dryhop and aroma-hops, but they should certainly have added much more bittering.

Beautiful hazy copper beer with a bubbly offwhite head that leaves lacing. Delicious fruity hops (grapefruit, citrus, apple) and some pine. The flavor is a deliciously sweet fruity hop flavor, but lacking that strong hop bitterness. Not a hint of the 10.5% alcohol, which is a feat for a not particularly bitter wheaty beer! An interesting take on the DIPA: the wheat substituting for barley (from the hoppe, I gather) neglects a strong caramel malt backbone, but that goes well with the lack of bitterness and the lighter wheat base. They must have spent so much hops on the hopback and dryhops, very little at the top of the boil. You’re getting your money’s worth with this brew. Extra points for creativity! Can’t wait to try the hoppe.

bomber. golden amber color, light haze. off-white tall creamy head, kind of fluffy. aroma is sharp hops, pine, grapefruit rind, slightly floral and mild sweet doughy malt. flavor is sharp bitter pine malt, grapefruit pith, some alcohol heat, and much weaker honeyish malt. finish is bitter leafy hop and distant sweet malt.

Pours a cloudy dark golden with a thin white head.. Piney hop aroma with some malt sweetness.. Flavor is pretty much the same. Everything is very well balanced in this beer... Medium to full body.. Solid

Pours golden amber color with a small amount of head. Medium bodied. On the aroma I get hops, floral citrus aroma and a hint of the bitterness to come. On the palate you get hops up front, a bit of bitterness to finish and a subtle citrus flavor in there as well. Excellent blend. One of my favorite if not my favorite Southern Tier brew.

Beautiful pour, crystal clear orange gold with a thick, creamy white head. Aroma is nicely hopped of pine and some earthy notes. Flavor is bitter and sweet but with an astringency and metallic bite. Palate is good but with those off flavors...Overall it could be much better but its a decent sipper. Got better towards the end and metallic notes were gone.

Draft at BEVERIDGE PLACE BODACIOUS BEVERAGES BREWFEST ’09. Pours gold with white head. Floral nose with hints of some citrus fruit and something tropical (pineapple?). Incredibly balanced double IPA with a nice finish.
