When words donít say enough we sometimes let our fingers do the talking. Maybe itís kid stuff, but the sign of the goat has been used by rock stars, sports fans, celebrities & unfortunate politicians to celebrate symbolically. Open this bottle for your turn to flash the eternal gesture of high voltage rock & roll. For those about to bock, we salute you!

Southern Tier Goat Boy is a unique and interesting brew. Ruby red color with a pinkish head. Aroma is that of ripe bananas and caramel. Taste is similar to a Hefeweizen but with a strong caramelized ripe bananas character. You definitely feel the alcohol. Fortunately, Goat Boy doesnít live up to its name.

(Trade w/Olking) - Frothy head and brown body with large carbonation makes it look a lot like root beer. Nice aroma of banana. Smooth tasting flavors of cinnamon and banana. Not overly cloying. Decent mouth feel. I could definitely drink this again (if it were readily available in the SF Bay Area!)

Nice aroma of bubblegum, banana, fruit, light spice. The appearance is murky red brown, off white head. The flavor is just like the aroma, sweet bubblegum, ripe bananas. Medium to medium thick in body. Spicy on the finish. Nicely done.

BLADT (577) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - AUG 8, 2014
Tap pour. Cloudy tawney orange with a finger of creamy of white head in glass. Great German nose of muted banana bread, cloves, orange zest and roasted malt. Super inviting. Medium body, mostly dry. More banana bread, with caramel and spice. Sweetens some on warming. Mild bubblegum. Fresh. Well built.

Braudog (5623) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - AUG 3, 2014
Bottle. Muddy reddish-brown with a ordinary-looking head. Little bit of a brown sugar aroma. This drinks a bit on the lighter bodied side. Thereís tinges of banana and a little more brown sugar, but this doesnít really carry much classical appeal of a weizenbock. And whatís an imperial bock? Little redundant. Pleasant enough beer. Light citrus, and a nice overall package. Light florals with some woody aroma common to the style. Light bitter finish. Pours orange with ok head and lacing. Nice stuff, and good to see someone do a decent job of this style. Bottle.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours darkly ruby with a slight off-white head. Aroma of treacle and some indeterminate fruit esters. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is sort of smoked banana with moderately dark treacle. Not finishing dry. Quite tasty.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours reddish copper with a transient beige head and a floral aroma. There is a sweet and fruity wheat flavor something that tastes like jasmine. Unusual and tasty.

Poured a clear dark chestnut brown, good head (clear until the sediment mixed in at least). Aroma was banana, slight clove, faint milk chocolate, and toffee. Flavor is a match, some slight fruitiness there as well. Alcohol present, but very much to style, and calling a standard strength weizen bock an imperial strikes me as a bit silly, but whatever, it was a good brew! More banana than clove, but pretty well balanced. Wish there had been just a touch more of a malt backbone, but all in all a very enjoyable beer, and a style I really like.

Bottle:   Unassuming pour, not much head or lacing.   Minimal bready nose, but on the tongue its a bit brighter.   Shows signs of breadiness, some dark pitted fruit like spices, and definite wheatiness.   Not as bright as others, but its there.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Comes across a little simple.   Bottle says Imperial Weizenbock, but I would classify this as a simple Weizenbock.   Decent attempt, no Aventinus, but its come some of its profile.   Spices finish too quick tho, wished they lingered longer.
