When words don’t say enough we sometimes let our fingers do the talking. Maybe it’s kid stuff, but the sign of the goat has been used by rock stars, sports fans, celebrities & unfortunate politicians to celebrate symbolically. Open this bottle for your turn to flash the eternal gesture of high voltage rock & roll. For those about to bock, we salute you!

Bomber from TheEpeeist after two years of waiting for them to produce their Matador (still listed with no ratings). Nose is banana, wheat bread yeast, with a hint of vanilla toffee and cloves. Murky amber with a medium, lightly lacing, beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter, sweet bananas, and very spicy and peppery. Nice weizenbock!

650 ml bottle from the lobo. Nice tan pour. Aroma is so faint. A whisp of grass or wheat perhaps. The taste is sweet caramel with a slow alcohol burn flowing through. A nice new spin on a spring beer. Thumbs up.

Pours a golden-amber colour with lots of tiny, tiny particles floating through. The head is frothy, off-white, has good retention and thick patchy lacing. Aromas of caramel malts with notes of apples, alcohol and mild grass. Fruity malt flavours with again, the caramel base and some metallic hints from the hops. A little creamy in the mouthfeel, slightly thick with a nice dry finish. Even some mint at some point. Interesting brew that goes down nicely, but not sure it is a style I really like. The wheat is quite subtle but shows up a little with time.

Bottle. Sweet caramel, moderate banana aroma with faint bubblegum notes. Almost clear red-orange under a persistent, tawny tan foam. Smooth cereal grain and faint banana flavour with very low bitterness and delicate balance. Medium body. Moderate carbonation.

i know people .. . weizen is bock baby! .. . purple dark brown .. solid foam .. . yeast, plum, dark wheat, and goat fur .. . nice easy finish, mild yet fulfilling .. . . The big advantage to playing the Venetian in Las Vegas - where it’s a beautiful theater - is that unlike other places, even many other nice venues, I can do a set and lighting cues, I can put on a real show. I can dress up, wear a tux.

Bomber, poured into a snifter at ~40 degrees F. Appearance: Pours a clear ruby brown, and forms a thick head of just slightly off-white froth that lingers a good long while. Smell: Caramel and some yeast esters waft out of the glass, mainly banana and clove. Taste: I’ll preface this portion by saying that I am probably spoiled by being able to grab fairly fresh Aventinus and Vitus, bottle or tap, any time I am so inclined. That being said, here we go. This opens with a highly medicinal, cough-syrupy malt barrage that has some faint tinges of toffee and caramel present, screaming futilely for someone, anyone, to save them from the raging torrent of Robotussin in which they are drowning. As the beer passes mid-tongue, the cough syrup is abruptly joined by an almost equally powerful slurry of rotten fruit, like black runny banana. By the finish, the ABV has also decided to join the party, by kicking down the door to announce itself with a burst of heat and astringency. The aftertaste is astringent alcohol mixed with Robotussin, like the world’s lamest attempt at a hot toddy. Given the other folks claiming this has a noticeable hop presence, I’m going to go ahead and say my Wall O Hop hypersensitivity may now have a fourth flavor profile it can detect when picking up hop barrages that taint everything and completely hide or ruin every other flavor present in a beer - specifically, Robotussin. Mouthfeel: Full and sticky, this part works. Overall: Definitely not buying this one again. Yeesh.

Tap at pies and pints. Nose is malt and yeast. Brown pour with tan head that never fully disappears. Malt taste and fullness. Not well balanced and wouldn't order again. Not horrid though.

Brown somewhat clear. Somewhat carbonated. kind of funky, yeasty aroma. Better tasting than the aroma. Good AND level.

Aroma of Belgian yeast, dark amber color with a short lasting white head. Mild balanced taste of bananas and chocolate, light bodied with a pleasant sweet chalky nut finish.

This year way different than last. Lost a lot of the fruity notes that made last year’s so good. Alcohol much more evident as well. Still good but loses serious points.
