3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Southern Tier Harvest has a thin, off-white head, a clear, bubbly, copper appearance, and a bit of lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of citrus (pineapple?), white bread, and sweetness, and the taste is of grapefruit, hop bitterness, citrus rind, white bread crust, and some sweetness. Mouthfeel is light, watery, and a little slick, and Southern Tier Harvest finishes mostly dry, sweet, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, this really does not fit the E.S.B. style, that I can see, but it is still tasty. It’s worth checking out. RJT

Something seems to have been amiss with the bottle of Harvest that I tried. In addition to an under note of off flavor, hops were muted and there wasn’t much expression from malt either.

Draft sample at Manahawkin Spirits. Pours a hazy amber color with a finger of foamy off white head. Aroma of grain, pine, grass, and earthy hops. Taste of nice pine and grapefruit bitterness, light citrus, grass, and grain.

Bottlebpour. Translucent copper to amber with a white head of foam. Not much retention. Aroma is grassy and sweet. Tastes sweet initially, and moves to a pleasant bitterness. Pretty good overall.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: a deep amber color, pours with a medium white head that settles into a smaller dense head, beer is very clear, head has decent retention and lacing
Aroma: subtle hoppy grass and pine, even fainter malt grain in there too
Taste: very bitter, has some citrus perhaps, grass and pine pretty strong in this one
Palate: a relatively light mouth feel, leaves a bitter aftertaste, average c02
Overall: I like this beer but I feel like it could use some more hop flavor rather than just bitterness, I like how the malt gets out of the way of the hops

A nice hoppy beer with a 6.7ABV tasty and a nice every day brew. I'm spoiled by Southern tiers specialty beers but this is fine.
