pbjclimber (150), Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 6, 2006 Tap: Pours a hazy straw color with a white head. Flavor is of wheat, orange, lemon, some clove, and it finishes with a banana flavor. This was a well balanced and very good hefeweizen with a lot of flavor.
Beerlando (1352), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 9, 2008 Courtesy GodOfThunder. Pours a hazy golden straw color with a thin, fleeting, off-white head. Minimal spotty lacing marks the glass. The nose shows notes of banana, clove, and nutmeg over fresh cut, honey coated wheat grains. There’s a touch of peppery hops in there as well. Flavors are well balanced, sweetened dry grains and caramelized bananas, and spiced with a dash of pepper, nutmeg, and perhaps a hint of nuttiness. The mouthfeel is substantial and smooth, without being cloying at all. Nice brew. GodOfThunder (30), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 7, 2008 Cloudy yellow with a nice head. A lot of nutmeg, clove and allspice type flavors. The taste is candy sweet with the wheat taking a back seat to the spices. There is a little alcohol kick. Nice beer. jefcon (850), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 3, 2008 A hazy yellow-gold beer with nice presence in the glass. Aromas balance the clove and ginger spices with a soft fruit. The power of this beer is apparent when you taste the flavors and how well they are punched-up by the alcohol. Mealy bananas and nicely bitter hops. This is a well-crafted beer with lots of character. Not too dry on the finish. dchmela (775), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2008 Sample from bomber, courtesy GodofThunder. Cloudy light wheat color. Big spicy cloves, coriander and banana aroma. Smooth wheat and spice taste, very big. Southern Tier makes some big beers and this is a great example of what they do well. bconley (40), Fern Park, Florida, USA Oct 2, 2008 Very cool Champagne color. Very nice. Spicy. Allspice is present. Fruity. Very light. Hope to have again.
