Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

For a hop bomb this sure was malty. I felt the malts almost overpowered the beer. Great malt profile it is though, and the hops are all grapefruity which mean mmmm for me. Not sweet though not dry, there’s a wetness from the maltiness that doesn’t get too sweet and stays pleasant throughout. Nice one.

Medium offwhite head. Yellow body. Harmonic floral honey, fruit, and malts aroma. Very impressive. Dry-sweet citric peachy gasoline taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish chalky mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish strawy banana aftertaste disappears quickly. Relatively mild and balanced for the alcohol. (0.65l bottle from DavidL.)

A nose of grape, lemon and alcohol. Taste is of grape, grass, metal and cucumber. Finish is bitter and alcoholic. This brew was so so.

22 oz. bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, sweet malts, bread, straw, and just a little alcohol. The alcohol is also well masked in the flavor, which also has notes of bread, wheat, yeast, sweet malts, light citrus fruits, straw, and grass. Sweet, malty, and crisp. Light-medum bodied, with a wheaty mouthfeel. Alcohol more apparent as it warms. Bitter finish. Southern Tier continues to deliver.

Bomber. Minimalism???? are they insane or just being sarcastic. A strong version of SNPA with some wheat an yeast tang going on. This bomber emptied far too quickly.

This is one powerful beer! I suppose this is pretty similar to Stone’s Arrogant Bastard, but I don’t know which one is tastier. This one surely is a damn fine beer! It pours a hazy and cloudy dark golden color with a big and sticky off-white head. The head leaves an attractive and sticky cascading lace around the glass. The aroma is full of hops, bread, wheat, grass, grapefruit, orange and a slight hint of lemon zest. The body is smooth and palatable. The flavors are bold, spicy, dry and hoppy, with hints of grapefruit, orange, bread and floral notes. The spicy and dry finish also touches on a bready note, with an ever-so-slight hint of alcohol. This is one fantastic pale ale!

Bottle. The color was yellowish, fairly light one. The foam was white and a couple of centimeters high. Nice aroma of hops, caramel and fruit. The flavor contained course a lot of hops, citrus, caramel and tropical fruits. Not that much grapefruit. Bitterness was there but it was not too intense. The beer seemed balanced, easy to drink.
