COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don’t be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

Aroma is fresh with hops, some citrus and wheaty notes. Flavour has fruits, hops, soapy citrus, some apricot and wheaty notes. Also some alcohol. A stronger version of Hop Sun.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Hazy, golden straw with 2-finger ivory head and excellent lacing. Aroma of green tea, caramel and pungent hops. Tastes sharply of pine resin and caramel with spice, fruit, citric and floral hops and grass. Starts bitter but amble malt sweetness quickly asserts itself. Full body and high carbonation produce a very assertive mouthfeel. This is a "big" beer in everything but the aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled sample. American Strong Ale could be my new favourite beer. Great blend of hops and citrus. Loved this one

If rust could look smooth with waves of golden highlights and penny copper hues, then this would be the pour of Southern Tier’s Hoppe cascading down the bomber into my neat Oktoberfest mug. Too bad it stayed in the fridge, opened, for nearly a week before I had a chance to try it out. Nonetheless, the flavors are fairly intact enough for a decent rating. Nose of (almost burnt) biscuit with hints of caramel and almond. Musky citrus notes. Great bitter punch in the overall taste from grassy residue. Almond, again, hits the palate this time. Decent mouthfeel. Overall: Grassy, nutty, honey, past-prime-citrusy. Rebuy: Yes.

Bottle with Pat. Pour is a golden orange color with sticky 2 finger white head. Aromas of oranges, biscuity malt, older hops, and pine. Taste is similiar to aroma with the bitter pine and orange citrus coming through the most. I think this one was on the shelf for a little too long or I dont like the hops they used.

Pours dark orange with a thin white head and nice lacing. Aroma is awesome caramel malts, juicy hops and pine. Taste is beautifully malty with a nice hop bite. This has been sitting for several months and it’s still great.

A-- Poured an orange gold color. Good sized off white head, 2 fingers, that retained its shape and body for a while. Good head retention on swirling the glass. S-- Not a hop bomb by the smell. Balanced between hops and malt. Carmel, honey, grapefruit and orange blossom in the smell. Definite sweet smelling beer. T-- Syrupy sweet first sip. Lots of syrupy orange and sugary grapefruit flavors coming through. Falls short in the taste. M-- Much better mouthfeel. A lot of citrus flavors in the mouth and the sugar drops off after the taste. Lemon, orange, grapefruit and some pine. Prickly and oily tasting. Just a bit of a carmel finish. Might need to be a little more unbalanced towards the hops. A little too much balance and still too much sweetness. D-- Better mouthfeel than taste. A little too sweet and syrupy for me. Has a lot of good things going on with this but the first few sips of this were so syrupy. Very drinkable after the syrupy beginning and well hidden ABV. Would score a lot higher but the syrup beginning really hurt.

Personally I would love some extra bitterness in the taste. Pours with vague clarity, light lacing, and a golden hue. Aroma is very mild, as is the taste.
