Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

Bottle. Maybe I really need to try this one fresh on tap or something. In the condition I tasted it, there was way too much grain, a bit of sticky alcohol, and some lingering sweet-citrus hops. It was all to reminiscent of, and not markedly better than, some of the Scandinavian malt liquors I got to know too well over there a decade ago.

Bottle from VA when I went for Thanksgiving. For something called and Imperial Pale Ale this is a little light. In fact that is the second time in as many days that and Imperial something has come up short on flavor and character. What is there though is all about the citrus. Grapefruit aromas and flavors. Also big citrus peel flavors with a malt body that is decent bot not huge. A bitter grapefruit hop finish to set you on your way. Pours a pretty clear bright yellow color.

Pours orange, slightly cloudy, with a medium off-white head and decent (but not great) lacing. Aroma of citrus and sweet malt, can also lightly detect the alcohol scent. Taste is very citrusy at the start - strong orange, grapefruit flavors. Can taste the sweet malt in the finish, which is also a bit thick/sticky. This beer wasnt quite as good as I expected, but I will have to try it again - my taste may be off due to some cold medication I took a short while ago.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with líght notes of rotten fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit and a slight alcohol burn. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

22oz bottle. Nice copper color with a 1 inch white head. Hoppy aroma with a nice malt balance. Hoppy flavor with a malty back, like a well made IIPA. In fact, not quite sure what makes this an imperial pale instead of an IIPA, but hell, it tastes good.

Hazy amber, large off-white head with good retention, lots of lace. Aromas of citric hops and caramel. Flavor starts off with intense grapefruit hops, becoming sweeter with malts in the middle, some cream soda and caramel here, before a hops-bitter end. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel.
