Smooth medium body with mild carbonation. Good pale malt sweetness carrying flavors of pine sap and floral hops. Has a mild alcohol bitterness to finish. Enjoyed this one. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 6, 2008 A dork yellow color with a huge head. Hoppy and little fruit aroma. The hops are strong but not over powering. The alchahol is well hidden as this is a very drinkable brew. mabel (2590), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Bottle supplied by steve taht DrBayern and CelticBrew and I shared. It poured a cloudy golden color. There was minimal head, but the fine lace remained around the edge. I found the beer to be somewhat thin. The hops was there, but it failed to knock off my socks, which I expoect with an American Strong. A nice beer though. Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA

Hey Matt, loved the joke about the fella and the 20 dollars, roflmao! The beer poured from bomber a nice medium golden. Aroma was of grapefruits, hops and wet forrest grasses. The flavour was of lovely malts, hops and resins. This beer is awesome. I would love to try the on tap version. Thanks Steve for letting me experience my first couple of Southern Tier beers! nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2008 Updated: Sep 27, 2009650 ml. Clear, burnt orange with a small creamy head that leaves frosting behind. Large aroma of juicy orange and grapefruit, both drizzled in a honey-pine resin mixture. Flavor is orange with some light honey, fruity oat, berry and citrus peel turning to more citrus peel and resin. Finishes a bit harshly with orange baby aspirin, resin and sodden wood. Light-medium body is almost smooth, but has a little too much carbonation and finishes to the dry side. Update: much better with a smoother hop flavor and less carbonation after "breathing" for a day.
