Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

fresh bottle supplied by bgburdman9... odd color...orange/yellow... pale apricot with a long lasting white head and lots of drippy lacing. really sweet aroma with notes of pale graininess, yellow peach, orange pith, light pine, grass and tea (or tea-like tannins). ouch... beyond cloying on the palate. flavors of floral orange blossoms, caramel, resiny pine and citrus all blanketed by a dense layer of residual sugar. piny finish is short lived. medium to full bodied from the sugars with a sticky mouth feel... all together unpleasant.

Great, fresh aroma of hops and wildflowers. Sweet malt in the flavor, but well balanced by bitter hops with flavors of grass, flowers, and herbs. The high abv is well hidden. Harsh on the palate in a good way, with the bitter hops lashing at the tongue and leaving a mild hop burn.

Opaque deep orange and gold with a slightly off white head. The aroma is massive grapefruit with some almonds and apples. The taste has some grapefruit rind and sharp bitterness in the finish. There is a little bit of sweet caramel, but it gets slapped back down by the bitterness during each drink. A massively hopped brew that is surprisingly easy to drink.

For a beer that claims to be 10% it is certainly well hidden, as implied in the description. Poured a light golden brown hue with a frothy white head that had mild retention. Aroma was very malty but also had some citrus notes. Flavor was initially sweet but balanced out by good but not too aggressive hops. Finish was smooth. If it weren’t for the high ABV it say this one makes a good session beer.

22 oz. bottle. A hazy gold body with a smallish light-tan head on top. Well-balanced aroma that is equal parts grassy/grapefruity and caramel. Medium to full-bodied. The taste is just as well-balanced as the aroma. Lots of caramel upfront to offset the citrusy back end. Very drinkable. Not too shabby.

bomber from G&G. first souther tier brew i’ve tasted. just as an aside...the bottle is pretty cool with the beer stats (abv., plato, and the hop varieties). now on to the beer...pours a light orange/yellow with a smooth white head. a very pleasing look, actually. the aroma is refreshing with amarillo hops dominating and a background of peach, orange zest, and pine. flavor is stellar. very well balanced with big hops and some sweetness up front and great hop bitterness in back. the malt really comes through in the aftertaste and is just slightly roasty. mouthfeel is very smooth and the 9% is well hidden (they advise the drinker not to underestimate the innocence of the beer, ha). overall, a very well made, well balanced, clean tasting ale.

Hops for the sake of hops, no complaints. I had a bomber at Volo, then went back the next day for another. Poured orange with a small white head. Smelled of citrus and pine hops. I called Mondy, tried to sneak one home for him. Hey Mondy, have you had this yet? It finished bitter, but the kind of bitter I love.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy golden color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter and floral hops are very pleasant. Taste is a mix between some floral bitter hops and light refreshing malt base with minimal caramel malt and more of a golden ale base. Good carbonation with full body and no apparent alcohol. Very well done and I have to admit that I could not detect the 10% of alcohol in this beer and thought it was very good for the style.
