Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

Clear gold, big puffy head. Good citric, hoppy nose, some sweetness. First impression is a great palate, very full and rich. Good hops, light grapefruit, a bit of pine astringency. Excellent malt backbone, really well-balanced, insanely drinkable considering its strength. Would like a bit more citrus in it, but that’s just personal preference. Very nice.

22oz - Golden liquid under light yellow head. Nice looking, but that’s about as good as it got. Everything seemed disconnected. I’ll stick with the Gemini before this again.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown. Clear golden body with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet citrus and flroal hop aroma. Very sweet caramel and honey flavor with some floral and citrus hops and a fairly dry bitter finish. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a very cloudy amber with a moderate yellow/white head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of fruity citrus. The flavor is equally nice with a strong caramel malt presence supporting citrus hops bitterness. It is a pleasure to enjoy a hoppy beer that is not overwhelmed by pine and acrid grapefruit peels. The alcohol was very well hidden and went virtually undetected. Very good beer.

Bottled, tried at Sean and Ryan’s tasting in Carlsbad with DenverLogan, wetherel, WeeHeavySD and many others. Being from San Diego, this hop monster suits my fancy just fine. Dark gold color and some light white lacing. Floral and sappy pine resin aroma with lots of orange citrus. Flavor is mildly sweet with notes of wheat underneath. Finishes with medium bitterness and a great body. Nice!

Tasted at Sean and Ryan’s party. Yellow amber color. Sweet malty. Mellow hop taste, but nice hop aroma. Delicious. Another Southern Tier winner.

Tap at Capital Ale House 05/13/08. Clear dark golden with large frothy head that stuck around. Big floral/citrusy hop aroma. Pronounced citrusy and fruity hop flavors over a light pilsner or other malt backbone with some fruity yeast character. Fairly full mouthfeel with some residual hop bitterness in the finish and some alchohol warming. Nicely balanced Hoppe beer.

An light orange colored beer with a nice white head. Great hop taste with a citrus blend First couple of sips you can tell it’s a 9% beer. After that you get used to it. I had the 22oz. bottle.
