CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Feb 4, 2008 (22oz bottle) Sampled at Ciderwinder 5 in Victoria. Love that amarillo nose. Great looking - slightly hazy, mild carbonated and golden body. Nose is wonderfully floral and tart. Strong amarillo tongue. A new favourite and re-confirms amarillo as my favourite hop. So good! Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bomber from brentfeesh - thanks Brent! Pours into my Chimay glass clear gold with a creamy, off white head. Decent carbonation. Pine and perfumey sweet orange nose, a few peachy notes. Medium bodied, the carbonation makes it feel lighter, but a touch of stickiness is apparent. Nice orange rind bitter over bready malt, light caramel and mild earthy flavors. The bitter, lightly dry citrus finish hangs in the mouth for a long, long time. Very nice! frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Feb 4, 2008 Looks beautiful in an oversized goblet... deep-hazed honey/vermillion body, low particulate (heavier late) in suspension, under a full & creamy, off-white head. Sweet tangerine and caramel fill the nostrils, suggesting that any edginess that was initially present in this beer has mellowed in the months I’ve cellared it. Only a mild whiff of grapefruit hints to the contrary. Alcohol becomes forceful as she warms and is a strong component to the flavor as well. Citrus is well-represented in the mouth, but more as a candied fruitiness than as the rindy bitterness I’d anticipated. Plenty of toffee and caramel plays well with oranges and mild peppers. Hoppe exhibits a honey-like thickness on the palate with a dry, cooling, alcohol lift. Quite enjoyable. I am pleased I had let this sit (not that it was my intent), as it has almost reached a barleywine turning-point where the heat of the hops have succumbed to age, allowing the yeast and malt profile to shine.

blipp (1632), Newark, New Jersey, USA Feb 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Citrusy and hoppy aroma. Medium body. Hops dominate the flavor (pine and citrus) with the slightest hint of alcohol. A bit of a sweet caramel malt rounds out the flavor very nicely. Not very complex but well balanced and enjoyable to drink. haddon90 (1035), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Feb 3, 2008 Clear, light amber pour with a nice head. Great floral hoppy aroma. Nice mouthfeel. Kind of chewy, with notes of citrus and hops. Very delightful. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours a clear amber color with thin white head. Aroma is floral and resinous hops and light citrus. Taste is floral and citrus hops with a bit of thick syrup mixed in. This brew is a bit cloying, but on the upside the alcohol is well hidden. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Feb 2, 2008 Updated: May 17, 2008This is obviously an Imperial IPA. Pours a pristine golden color with a medium frothy white head and great lines of lacing. Aroma is pine, pineapple, and grapefruit. Taste is small amount of piney bitterness, some nuttiness, pineapple, and some grapefruit. This is a great brew. I’d love to do a blind taste test with this, Hop Slam, and 90 Minute. dmac (1423), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Feb 1, 2008 22 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree. Pours a clear golden amber with nice effervescence rising from the center of my Nostradamus glass and nice pillowy white head that leaves some good lacing as I sip this one. Aroma of flowers, syrup and citrus. Palate is slightly on the thin side with average carbonation. Mostly hop flavor that is off balanced from the malts and it’s not a good hop flavor but hey who forgot to close the fridge door for the last several weeks?? I loved Unearthly but didn’t care for this and since Gemini is a combo of the two should I just save myself some time and average the two scores together myself??
