sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 3, 2008 Tasted 4/25/08. 22oz bomber. Ya know, I’m gonna say that this kicked off my DLD vacation. I was sipping on this gem while waiting for my friend Dan (aka The Dan Journal) and his girlfriend to pick me up and head north. Anyway...Bright golden hue with a medium sized bubbled white head. Bright orange and honey nose. Grassy note. Full bodied and hoppy. Mild caramel and burnt toasty malts. All hops in the palate! Rolling hop profile. Bitter grapefruit honey grassy fruity flavors, all in one delightful brew. Hidden burn, you know its there, but not too noticeable. Mild tartness. Solid finish. Damn fine!
HopHeadinAZ (110), USA Jul 14, 2008 22oz Bottle: Pours a clear golden with a solid white head that lingers.Aroma is sweet with only a few hops present. The taste is very nice albeit a bit sweet. the mouthfeel is medium with a little resin. Overall a good beer but not as Hoppy as I expected. agl108 (352), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 13, 2008 22 oz. bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured dark gold with fizzy white head. Decent lacing. Lots of citrus goodness present. On the thin side and lacking malt. Hmm, american strong ale or imperial extra pale ale as the label says? DenverLogan (420), Oceanside, California, USA Jul 11, 2008 Copper apricot...small head. Aroma of caramel and orange zest. Rich flavors of pale malts, citrus hops, candy sugar, cinnamon, tea, honey, floral hops, citrus-orange zest. hey_kevin (1259), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 8, 2008 Nice bouquet of floral hops. Big sweet malty aroma (not exactly what I’m looking for) Heavy even. Medium-full bitterness. Clean, with full fruity hopdriven finish. Lighter than expected from the aroma, but still heavy, even it comes across as fairly dry. JorisPPattyn (4246), Antwerpen, Belgium Jul 7, 2008 Pale orange-amber beer with small, off-white head. Wet dog, rainwater, faint flowery, hops, and a faint brandy aroma. Sweetish, but with a hoppy flavour; stale cookies in the background. Medium bodied, alcohol obvious. Quite neutral beer. Good balance, but that being the best that I can state about it. The wheat keeps hidden. Thanks, CK!
