4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I went out of my comfort zone to get this beer (what the f@#k are rose hips anyway)? Not usually a fan of Belgian beers, but here goes. It was on sale for $3.99 at the Wine and Cheese Place, so I thought Iíd give it a try. The first thing I noticed about this beer was its one of a kind aroma. This is one of the best beers I have ever smelled and certainly the most unique. It smells of honey, many types of citrus (grapefruit, tangerine, lemon), some hops and light malt. It pours a dark yellow, itís cloudy and it looks unfiltered. The foam is bright white and leaves lacing on your glass. Bubbles rise from the bottom to the top after it is poured. The taste is bitter up front, but fades into a refreshing blend of citrus and light spice. I would characterize it is a hoppier version of a shandy. Very refreshing. I will be remembering this one for the summer. The palate is also unique. It is effervescent and leaves a long aftertaste. Bonus points for originality. Iím very glad I tried this one. I donít like everything from Southern Tier, but I do love how they always take chances and refuse to be defined. This one is a must try.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy pale yellow with a whipped eggwhite head. Aroma is flowers and a little perfume. Taste is sweet pale malt, tartness and hop cone bitterness. Bitterness lingers on the palate after the swallow, along with some alcohol warmth. Interesting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a hazy, pale bright gold with an inch-plus of white head that laces the glass and lasts as a thin layer. Aroma of bready and pale malts, straw, lemon, grass, and herbs. Flavor of lemon, apricot, straw, pale and bready malts, grass, tangerine, and faint flowers. A dash of baking soda on the finish. Light-medium bodied, with a mouthfeel that starts dry and gets fuller, smoother, and fruitier. Moderate carbonation. Drinks less than 9% and doesnít show a big Belgian character. Nice beer.

Sweet, floral-candied aroma. Bomber. Mostly clear, perhaps a bit misty, pale greenish gold. Sweetish, citric candy flavor, medium-low hopping/bitterness. Lightish body. Grainy, flowery aftertaste. New Leaf Market, on firesale @ $1.99/bomber.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold with a moderate white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. Pleasant aroma of floral hops along with a bit of orange. The flavor is malt with some floral and citrus hops. A bit of sweetness as well throughout which I like. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. The 9% abv is very well hidden. Enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at The Righteous Room on November 18, 20l3 . Cloudy gold color, strong nose with lots of hops and a refined character, fairly strong hop/malt flavor with sweet, slightly sugery finish. The flavor balance could be a bit better but this is still a very good brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This looks great, pours great, and is really pleasant. I didnít find it hoppy at all. I noticed a persistent sweetness both in the taste and in the aroma that made this a nice beer to drink.. So to recap : Iíve got a lovely pouring, and looking beer with a head and lacing. Iíve got a fine mouthfeel and a muted low level of bitterness, but a beer that has a really low and persistent sweet note. It has a great aroma.
All the things that should make this a spectacular beer. What it does have in spades is no indication at all about how much alcohol youíre quaffing, because this is a quaffing beer,
I like it, I donít love it. and Iíd love it again when Iím next in the store stocking up .

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slightly murky straw-golden color with tiny vegetable particles suspended in the beer. A short white head is noted. Texture is a little oily Sweet lemon nose. Clean flavor of how lemon furniture polish smells. Nice lingering bitterness. Probably accentuated by the alcohol I note.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wheat, lemon oil, flowers, ginger, lemon-poppy seed muffin, and a touch of herbal funk in the aroma. The taste is unexpectedly sharp, with wheat, pale ale hops, and lemon peel. There are some Belgian elements for sure, but the hops are more assertive than in your usual abbey ale. Good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle- Pours cloudy straw golden with a nice one finger white head and decent lace. Aroma is floral, wheaty, yeasty. The taste is sweetart, floral, citrusy, Belgian, alcohol. Good beer, I wish it hid the alcohol a little better.
