Type: 22-oz. bottle
Glass: Pint mug
From: Total Wine & More in Ballantyne (Charlotte), N.C.
Purchased: Sept. 9, 2014
Consumed: Sept. 16, 2014
Misc.: Date of birth April 1, 2014
Poured a golden, straw, hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki-cream head. Lots of streams of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Below average lacing on the sides. Below average retention on the top. (Sight - 3.74)
Smelled a pleasant variety of hops from the get-go. Got Citra hops, potent floral hops, coriander, tangerine rind, orange creamscicle, wet Cascade hops, pine, lime, almost raspberry, Sprite, caramel and Mountain Dew. (Smell - 4.17)
Taste wasn’t anywhere as good as the nose. The sparkling soda notes, which came on strong late in the nose, dominated the taste. Got Sprite, Mountain Dew, 7-Up and other lime, citrusy soda. Citra hops, floral hops, lime, bitter pine, orange creamscicle, caramel, coriander and bitter tangerine rind.
(Taste - 3.77)
Light body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, abrupt finish on the tongue. Didn’t taste anywhere near 9.00% ABV (Feel - 3.64)
I am about 97 percent positive I’ve never had a pale ale at 9.00% ABV, but it didn’t feel that strong. Overall it was a decent pale ale and I’d have it again. (Overall - 3.75)

Transfer from BA review on 6-3-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – Pours a heavily hazed golden orange color. Upon pouring there was a thick two finger white head. Even thought the brew was hazy one could still see tons of little carbonation bubbles streaming up through the brew. The big head faded slowly over time leaving very little lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is big of a citrus hop (lemon and grapefruit) smell mixed with aromas of a floral hop as well. Along with these hoppy smells are other aromas of maltiness and rose water mixed with a little bit of grass.
Taste – The taste starts out with a malty and bready taste with a strong showing of lemon mixed within. Flavors of yeast and a floral taste soon come to the tongue with a lighter hop of grapefruit joining in. At first the grapefruit is lighter, but it grows stronger as the taste advances while all the while the malty flavors begin to loss strength. In the end a light pine and grassy hop flavor join the now rather strong grapefruit hop to in the end create a malty and lightly hopped flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is thicker side with a carbonation that is rather low for a champagne yeast beer. The tiny carbonation bubbles that are there are nice, but there are just too few with a body that is too thick for the style.
Overall – An alright brew, but nothing too extraordinary. The taste was rather nice, although the body was a bit off for me.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a lively head. Faint nose. Mild hops in the mouth, but I was really craving more hops from this.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bomber from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep golden with
Aroma: Quite sweet with a peppery spiciness, a floral/perfumed note (stronger when first poured), deeply resinous, the malts are candied, dusty, not entirely inviting.
Palate: Medium body, fairly full, soft carbonation, a little syrupy in spite of the modest body.
Flav.: Lots of that perfumed/floral note, spicy/peppery, quite sweet, candied maltiness (hard to describe better), some alcohol, still not quite lovable; off dry with fairly big bitterness and a long, sweetly malty, peppery, perfumed finish.
I’m guessing that the rose hips are what I object to most. I don’t love the overall execution either. Interesting, just not something I want again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2014/09/10 - Pours a hazy, orange-honey colour with a thick, fizzy, off white head that quickly reduces to a lingering surface film. Aroma is citrus fruits, mild pine, floral hops and some Belgian yeast/bready notes. Taste is citrus, pine, sweet malt, yeast/bready notes and alcohol. Sweeter than expected. Body is full and chewy with lively carbonation and a mildly warming boozy finish that is sweet and semi-bitter. Not a huge fan of this one. A tad too sweet and the ABV is too noticeable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Wow, this is an out of left field belgian ale. Clear copper pour, with a medium white head. Sweey malty aromas, lots of bready sweet malts, with some distinct tropical fruit aromas, with some piney, citrus zesty hops. Very lively carb, and viscous mouth feel. Finish is quite sweet, notes of candi sugar, and yeast, bready malts. The rose hips are kinda there in the finish, but other than that, i cant find them. Medium bitterness, with a solid hoppy, pine resin after taste. A cross between a belgian ale and a double ipa.
