We rely on age-old tools in the brewery despite being surrounded by high technology. As a sort of compass, we use the six pointed brewerís star to help navigate uncharted brews. The cardinal points of water, malt, grain, yeast, hops and a brewer make the baseline. From there anything goes. Sometimes the journey is as important as the destination.

Youíll notice a slight bitterness in Compass derived from our use of rose hips accentuated by high effervescence. Drink it cold from a fluted or tulip glass. And by all means, avoid sea serpents.

Bomber. Beautiful herbal aroma with hints of rose, and saison. Flavor begins very herbal grass, hints of Belgian saison, and then a lovely blast of rose hips blended perfectly with the hop profile thrown in. Lingering sweet bitterness makes for a fantastic 9%ír that drinks like a session ale!

Bottle from the LCBO. Orange-golden with a slight haze and nice clean white head. Nice aroma - some fruity sweetness, floral/herbal character from the rosehips, tropical and citrus notes, some drying alcohol. Flavour shows off everything the flavour suggests, with a well bittered and slightly boozy finish. Really easy to drink, which means that 9% really sneaks up on you, especially when youíre downing a bomber. Good stuff.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 650 ml bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 9% abv and it also lists the malts and hops. Appearance: It has a bright yellow color with some visible carbonation and a some very fine sediment floating around inside the beer. On top I got a tall soapy head which quickly settles down to a wispy thin film covering. It leaves some lacing near the top of the glass. Smell: The aroma is fairly light but do get some nice citrusy lemony hops standing out with a touch of floral and pineapple like hop notes. There is a hint malt sweetness as well. This may be a bit crazy but I am also getting something, very very light that reminds me of a Flintstones chewable vitamin for kids. Taste / Palate: Itís flavor matches the aroma perfectly. There is a good balance of light malt sweetness with juicy and floral hop flavor and bitterness. The feel is well carbonated and fairly light. Overall it is very drinkable for a 9% abv beer.

Yummmmm new beer to the Ontario market. They need to work on the copy on their bottle, which is a bit on the hokey side, but really if itís as deserving as itís overall, they can print anything they want. Pours golden with a little haze, just a sheet of white head. Nice floral-citrus hops nose with a seemly non-hops citrus in their too. Lovely creamy mouth-feel and flavour on the first sip, nice floral, citric bitterness in the hops, well balanced sweetness, bready malts. Lingering finish. Nice beer. Go find this beer.

(bottle - 22 oz) Clear gold with a fizzy white head. Bitter and bracing hop aroma with some grassy floral notes under it. Flavor is bitter and hoppy at the start with a very dry and almost sweet grassy middle. Finishes with a lingering bitterness.
