COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We rely on age-old tools in the brewery despite being surrounded by high technology. As a sort of compass, we use the six pointed brewerís star to help navigate uncharted brews. The cardinal points of water, malt, grain, yeast, hops and a brewer make the baseline. From there anything goes. Sometimes the journey is as important as the destination.

Youíll notice a slight bitterness in Compass derived from our use of rose hips accentuated by high effervescence. Drink it cold from a fluted or tulip glass. And by all means, avoid sea serpents.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy light gold with a hint of pink hue. Soft white foamy head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, pine, and yeast. Floral hops dominate the palate up front, followed by a nice sweet malty backbone. Subtle hints of lemon, pine, and a nice spice from the Belgian yeast. Rose hips leave a dry lingering finish. Loads of carbonation. Very light yet still almost chewy. Has an odd bite as it lingers on the palate. Unusual, but not so memorable.

Bottle. Pours a hazy warm gold with a high, coarse-grained cream-colored lacy head. Nose is floral -- gardenia, geranium -- as well as orange, bergamot, and yeast/bread. Sweet up front, with a definite boozy note; itís not a bourbon booziness, though. It almost reminds me of gin; thereís that same floral, herbal, and spiciness, and the bitterness comes off like a really good tonic water. Itís beerís answer to a Hendricks and Fever Tree, in a good way, and itís really refreshing. The finish is long, bitter, and cleansing. Very enjoyable.

Had this draft beer during the 7/4 beer tour 2014 at the Bocktown. Clear pale yellah. Comes on initially like a strong IPA without the terrible hops. Then I think this must be a beldgy strong ale. Little co2 and its 9% alky surely lets you know its presence. Yes, somewhat volatile and high in alky. Smell is rather mild on the nose. Finish is somewhat medicinal.

Seemed closer to an IPA than a Belgian ale. Hoppy, a little bitter with citrus and rose hips. Good but not great. Iím not really sure what they were going for with this one.

Immediate orangey hoppy champagne flavor with a floral flavor. This is a nice summery flavor that ends with a sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Appearance: pours a nice golden copper color, has a large beige head initially that fades pretty fast, Aroma: bread, biscuit, floral, grass, citrus, Taste: pretty bitter throughout, can taste the alcohol, grass, perhaps some spice, citrus, the flowers come thru Palate: lively carbonation, light mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste Overall: pretty unique beer, a lot more bitterness to it than I was expecting, alcohol content is pretty evident in the taste, glad I tried it but I really donít need it again

Bomber. Nose is somewhat sweet, caramel mixing with dusty-yeasty, citrus juice and a touch of rind. Pours clear pale golden with a soapy white head. Taste lightly sweet and strongly peppery, strong spice, very scratchy sandpaper in the finish, lightly warming and fume-based but otherwise well-contained alcohol, some orange and lemon rind with lighter grapefruit, touch of earth and pine, faint floral perfume and very faint coriander. Fragile medium body, fruit is leaning tropical, but the pleasant malt is weak up the middle. Refreshing and a bit dangerous, not terribly harmonious, but interesting and fine in smaller quantities.
