3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle for $7.99. Oily Irish coffee and grain with a splash of booze aroma. Pitch black, no light gets through, brown head, no lacing, no foam residue moments after the pour. Flavor is a strange medley of soy, coffee, umami, oats, alcohol. Palate is thick bodied, pungent taste to nose effect. Overall, this is a big shouldered, big daddy. Clear your schedule for the rest of the night, because this one takes time to polish off.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown with a small brown head. The aroma has a lot of chocolate with some light vanilla. It has a full, thick body with average carbonation. The taste is mostly bitter and roasted with a dry finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the keg. Poured with a thin brown head, appearance as black as they come; smooth and viscous with a hint of initial carbonation in the mouth. No lingering flavour which is a shame and lacks the complexity hoped for.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A: Pours black as night. Minimal head is tan and dissipates quickly.
S: Tough to get any smell here.... but I think it’s my bad sense of smell. Subtle roast.... otherwise smooth and light.
T: Not the most complex beer but very very smooth. Definately lives up to the name of oat, with some wheaty, oatmeal flavor is big. Otherwise surprisngly light. Much more balanced than the other Southern Tier Imperial Stouts.
P: Palate is on the money. Super smooth.
Overall this is the best ST Imp. stout for sure. The flavors are much more subdued which leds to an easier and more enjoyable drink. A great beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Sybarite Pig. Tulip. Pours a jet black, thick with a great thin tan head. Good lace. On the noise are wonderful roasted malts, spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon, caramel and raisins. Tastes much the same. Alcohol at 11% comes through nicely but not overwhelming. It is a hearty stout with a great smooth mouth feel. Went great with the Mac and cheese.
