4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 weeare138 (936) - Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 8, 2007Much thanks to TomDecapolis for sharing this beauty...
Appears a syrupy black with a small tan head that fades into a small head. Scattered lacing is left around the glass.
Smell if of chocolate, fudge brownies, roasted nuts, caramel, mocha, and cream...luscious.
Taste is of the same with fruity notes and a deep, rich cocoa.
Mouthfeel is boozy, chocolate filled, fudgey, caramel laden, bready, sugary, full bodied, and sweet.
The only thing that could possibly make this one better is some age. Other than that, it’s really tasty. A true winner that I thouroughly enjoyed and will seek out again.

Big, thick, and chewy. Alcohol is well hidden, and surprisingly drinkable since it’s not sweet.

Black pour from 22 oz. drank on a dock on Sunday funday. Not a dock beer. Tan head. Chocolate and slight hops and malts. A huge beer.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 timfoolery (904) - California, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Bottle from trade at the end of 2011. Aroma and flavor of extreme oatmeal stout...good amount of sweetness, but nothing compared to other ST offerings. Palate is carb front, but loses it quickly. Excellent beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Darwenus (405) - Virginia, USA - JUN 6, 2013
It pours thick, almost viscous black with a head that fades to just a foamy, tenacious ring around the top edge. The aroma is chocolate, toffee, coffee, all kinds of rich, sweet tones. That’s all in the flavor, too, along with an indication of the 11% ABV and some spicy, hoppy tingle. The body is really thick and formidable.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 superspak (1536) - Michigan, USA - MAY 31, 2013
22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 9/19/2012. Pours dense pitch black color with a small dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, oats, toast, toffee, coffee, cream, dark bread, floral, light nuttiness, light pine, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roasted and dark malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, oats, roasted malt, toast, toffee, cream, light char, floral, dark bread, light pine, and roasted earthiness. Light coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark and milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, toffee, oats, light char, cream, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic balance and complexity of roasted and dark malt flavors; with big robustness and malt balance, with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic imperial stout! Big robustness and complexity of roasted and dark malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the gravity. A highly enjoyable offering.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a darker brown to black with a thin, khaki colored head of foam. Aroma is a soft oat and nutty chocolate and coffee. Taste is mildly bitter in the front end, but that gives way to a pleasant dark sweetness from there to the finish.
4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 tourette (200) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Tasted on tap at Chuck's. For my palate, this is as good as it gets. More subdued than some of the other imperial stouts I've tried tonight. But incredibly complex and perfectly balanced. Almonds and hazelnuts. Coffee and toffee. Milky smooth. Jesus this is great beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 _angst_ (1796) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 5, 2013
Bomber bought through Brill & Co. Pours viscous brownish black with a small frothy and fizzy mocha head that quickly dissipates while leaving a tiny trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, roasted cereal, oatmeal cookies, hay, wood, banana bread, alcohol, dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, toffee and hints of burnt caramel. Taste is sweet, bitter and tiny sour with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, oatmeal cookies, banana bread, burnt caramel, toffee, salty liquorice candy, dark chocolate and charred wood. Mouthfeel is smooth, silky and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny sour with roasted malts, oatmeal cookies, banana bread, dark chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee, burnt caramel and hints of salty liquorice candy. Smooth and pretty tasty…

Keg at craft Brighton
Pours hazy dark mahogany with tan head, becomes a lacing with legs. Subdued chocolate nose. Very full bodied, rich smooth, almost syrupy chocolate sweetness, boozy warmth, rich roasted barley for a lingering finish. Some honey and increasingly alcohol forward as it warms and burnt toast.
