3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Thanks to Super Secret Santa Nat!
Orange amber, low creamy tanned head.
A whif of resiny hops reach me even before I try to smell it - when I do I get a good puch of pine and aromatic peachy hop notes, wooden resin too.
Fruity base (grapefruit, peach) flavor, flowery notes - exits on a light wooden note, but wellbalanced and by no means overhopped. Fairly lightbodied - lacks maltbody like so many IPAs out there, sparkly mouthfeel. Nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Semi hazy copper pour with medium white head. Similar aroma to Phin & Matts. Perfumy floral hop aroma. Heavy grapefruit hop bitterness to start. Some malt to balance the hops. Thinnish mouthfeel...decent.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very decent IPA. I can enjoy the entire beer, not having to recover from the initial onslaught of some Hop Head’s wet dream. Malt body is medium, as it should be in this example of IPA.

I love it when brewers use terms like triple hopped in their descriptions. What the hell does that mean? The hops were added in three additions? It uses three times as much hops? Compared to what?
That aside, this is a decent IPA. The nose is nice--lotsa floral hops w/ a bit of honey and and a distinct note of toasty malt. It pours a clear amber color w/ only a sparse bit of head which turned out to be indicative of low carbonation--not always a bad thing but I think this particular beer lacks spunk because of it. Rather full bodied but not at all sticky and actually rather on the dry side. The malt character is kinda flat here w/ just a twinge of fruity flavor and a bit of an iced tea character (which might be the hops). Finish is bitter and almost clean aside from a green, earthy note.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Happy Deli, NYC, 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, dark orange with a thick fluffy white head with thick creamy lacing. Floral aroma, fresh, some mint. West coast hoppiness is evident, but not overdone. Some nuttiness in the background, a bi of mellow frutiness, not
the usual graprefruity onslaught. Very thick creamy mouthfeel. Above average.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hop bite is present immediately at the start, and balances out midway. Finishes rather dry for an IPA.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slightly hazy amber color with an off-white head that dissipates before you notice there was one. Aroma, hmm... First a thought it’s all about the hops but then realized it’s not about hops at all. Well, naturally hops are on the front but not in the west coast style. There’s also some caramel and cookie-type of maltiness in the aroma and what strikes me most, tea. Buttery malts, some easy-going fruity hops and again, tea dominate the flavor. This is probably not a fresh bottle but I could have used a stronger malt backbone and more aggressive hops. I wasn’t too impressed with this IPA

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber-red. Orange juice nose. Really nice smell. Smooth, medium body was nice, too. Big pine ... but not your typical "pine," more of a name-brand-perfume pine. Curious note of something spicy or herbal. Malts had graham cracker, sweet cookies and earth. Hops were spicy, perfumy and piny. Balanced bitterness. Interesting beer.

Brwtopia 11-12-05. Amber color with small off white head. Strong sticky hop nose. Taste was all hops. More of an americane IPA.
