Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Purchased a 12-oz bottle at Three Cellars in St Francis, WI. Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with an excellent creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a creamy off-white film top. Aroma of citrus and piney hops, a hint of caramel malt, light grapefruit, some toffee and a hint of green pepper. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of typical West Coast caliper IPA character of citrus/piney hops, some caramel and some light fruit. Finish has a mild bitterness that slowly disappears.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with beige head and mild lacing Aroma of citrus and spiced hops, caramel. Taset is also citrus hopped and sweetly malted. Balance is pretty good, not too over the top. Finish is lightly bitter. Body is medium and little sticky. Overall, a solid and enjoyable IPA.

Got via Secret Santa 08. Thanks Alan! Pours copper clear with minmal head. Touch of spicy hops, almost jalepeno like in the nose. Malt is a nice, balanced malt thats not too dry, not too sweet. Ends on a nice pine note. Small touch of salt at the finish.

Fruity, malty taste with caramel, citrus, toffee and a hint of chocolate. Slightly earthy bitterness in the finish. A solid and reliable IPA. Very nice one.

Shared with Pyrozoid. Clear golden poor with a tiny off white head with some lacing. Aromas are of predominent citrus hops, toffee, pine, grapefruit zest and some herbal notes. Very nice zestiness coupled with an amazingly well balanced bitterness. Very fresh flavors... Overall an amazing IPA experience.
