Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

This IPA impressed me with its crispness. It had a light honey taste throughout the hoppyness that was nice and seemed to balance out the bitterness. Very good.

I tried this beer on May 6, 2008 at Smokeless Joe’s in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured an orangy-brown with a thin white head. The aroma was sweet with malt, and heavily hopped. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour had some sweet malt hints, some hoppy bitterness with a grapefruit flavoiur leading to a dry finish.

Massive thanks to dkachur for this totally unexpected surprise! Medium orange, hint of copper, nice tan head faded slowly, quite clear. Aroma was a nice mix of gummy grapefruit, pine, earthy notes. Flavor matched, with the faintest roasty note in the back of the biscuit accented hops. Alcohol stood out just a bit in this one. All in all, a solid IPA.

Extremely carbonated, pours orange amber with a massive white head. Nice floral and citrus hop aroma. Flavor is piney hops that finishes somewhat grassy. Not feeling the earthiness of this IPA. Just ok.

This IPA is flowery hops right from the start; from the aroma to the initial palate. It’s followed by a hint of sweetness, which may be its only downfall: it may be just a bit too sweet; but really, it’s very incidental, & doesn’t affect the overall flavor, imo. Pours a clear, golden amber with a quickly diminishing head. There’s a very slight bitterness at the end, but it’s quickly rounded out by more flowery hop goodness. A very well-rounded brew for the price. Session beer?

Orange with very thin white head. Strong sweet mango, floral hop aroma. Bubbly mango, pine, malty hop flavour.

Pours a beautiful orange/slightly hazy amber with a tall and foamy off-white head and high carbonation. A perfect IPA appearance. Aroma is interesting... candied sugar, orange peel, lemon zest, piney hops. Taste is also intriguing. Orange and coriander flavors. A little citrusy. Hops are a mix between piney/floral and tart fruity. Mouth feel is highly carbonated with a smooth palate and a little dry and bitter at the end. Very surprised by this one.

Bottle. Clear, pale caramel coloring. Slow moving, static icy foam on surface. Moderate, light bubbly carbonation. Looks watery though appealing. Hoppy, citrusy orange hints. Very dry, almost no buttery bitterness. Smooth, even exhale. Alcohol noticeable on roof of mouth and on tongue at finish (dry warmness, slightly salty)
