COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Keg.Amber color with a thin off-white to beige head Sweet malty aroma and taste with lots of flowery aromatic hops. Dry bitter finish. Overall nice and enjoyable IPA, lacks a bit on the malt background to balance it even more.

22/11/2011 12Fl. Oz. bottle @ home - bottled: 5/25/11 (2011-664)

Clear orange beer, big creamy off-white head, bit stable, adhesive leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, chervil, bit of vegetables, herbal, hay. MF: low carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, passion fruit, pineapple, then grapefruit bitterness. Better to drink and hold the sip in your mouth as long as possible, to avoid the unpleasant aftertaste. Aftertaste is bitter grapefruit, tobacco, dry ending.

Bottle to glass. Crisp, smooth, tart. Very drinkable IPA. Lot of hops, but doesn’t overpower the beer. Pours a bright, clear amber with limited head.

Draught sample @ 3 Små Rum on November 10. Pours golden with a small white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is very malty with caramel, bread, sweet tropical fruits and some yeast. Taste is fresh and rather thin. There’s sweet malts, bread, cereal and peaches. Finish is sweet with lots of cereal.

Bottle courtesy of adneilsen (thanks Aaron) poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, grapefruit and pine. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of earthiness, carmel, grapefruit and light pine with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Chipalsa (483) - Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Sampled from the courtesy of OmegaX. The body is a golden yellow with not much of a body. Smelled floral of hops with hints of lemongrass and dried fruits. The taste has a sharp citrus, but is quickly overtaken by sweet malts with hints of orange peel. Finished sweet and a tad bitter - quite the palate cleanser.

Bottle pour. Color was that of bronze with a minimal white head. Nose consisted of some caramel malts with some pine in the mix. Weak nose for an ipa. Very faint aromas. Taste was nice with nice burnt caramel with piney/grapefruit hops that pleased the taste buds with a nice bitterness. Easy to drink. Pretty good. Double ipa is better though, imo.
